Easy to install and good for tight spaces that a gate would not work in. However, not as easy to do one handed as it says it is!

So I purchased (2) gates. One gate is for the bottom of the stairs and one is for the top landing of the stairs. I had to return the one for the top landing. These gates do not work well if you have moulding around your staircase. Baby was able to crawl underneath the gate and I had no other options because of the baseboards and moulding. Take that into consideration if contemplating on purchasing these gates. The gates are too hard to pull to close and open. The fastener that holds the gate to close...well sometimes your only able to latch onto one hook and not the bottom. That's because the mesh starts to retract back. Too expensive for all of these hassles. Would not buy again.

Great Idea - Bad in practice. My husband and I ordered this for the top of the stairs, something flexible to cushion a fall, but not to give enough to get out. We spent hours trying to install it with the bracket extensions. Once we finally got it installed, it was impossible to operate 2 handed much less one handed! there is no way that I could ever have operated this gate while holding on to a baby; i could barely operate it by myself without one!

We put this gate at the botton of our staircase. It works really well, since I don't have to worry about leaving the gate swinging open or having it closed all the time either. It was a little tricky at first to open, but after a few times I can usually get it open with no trouble. It is a little more difficult to get open while holding the baby, since it is easier to open with both hands. We are really pleased with this gate and are considering buying a second one for the top of the staircase too!

We really like this gate. The templates included in the pkg made it easy to install. It's great for a high traffic area, because when you're not using it, it rolls up out of the way. We use it at the bottom of the stairs, and there's no way my 15 month old can get past it. The fabric is fabric, so it's never going to be as sturdy as a wooden or plastic gate, but that being said, it's very sturdy fabric. There's not much give to it at all. You have to use two hands to open or close the gate, which is good and bad. It makes it where the kids can't figure out how to do it on their own, but it also makes it difficult for an adult to do if you're holding the baby. Also, the release button is a little sensitive; you have to turn it just right to get the gate to release. One more great thing is that it comes with two sets of wall hardware so that you can just remove the gate (which is super easy) and take to another location to put up (also super easy) All in all, we love it!

I used it to block a hall from the grandchildren. My 15 month old grandson figured out how to go under it in just a couple minutes - it's very flimsy. It was hard to latch, you definetly need 2 hands. If you don't pull it all the way the first time, you have to start over. It's also very noisy.

this is a great gate if you are not using it in a high traficc area, coz then you will get tierd retracting the get every time you want to enter the room and you cant cross over,
perfect for stairs, the house wont look crowded with baby stuff yet it is child proofed.

We needed something compact at the top of our stairs and this works perfectly! It takes some getting used to with closing it, but it serves its purpose to keep the little one from falling down the stairs!

My 15-month-old son got past this gate in four minutes. Literally. The mesh fabric is too flimsy and once a kid figures out he can flex it at the bottom and get a finger underneath, it's only moments before his head goes under.

Love this gate! It's so convenient having a retractable gate, it takes some getting used to, and the bigger kids can not do it one handed, but it keeps the babies off the stairs, so it's doing it's job well!
