We've had this bike since December, been using it since February. My husband assembled it and it's been great. No problems or defects so far!

This bike is extremely heavy, which makes it difficult for my 5 year old to manage. He is an excellent bike rider, who doesn't use training wheels, but still he gives up quickly on this bike because it takes so much effort just to propel it forward. The hand brakes have never worked correctly. If he puts it down to do something, it's so heavy that he can't pick it up again. Buy a different bike--this one is a piece of junk.

I bought this online as a Christmas gift for my 5 1/2 year old son. My husband had some trouble putting it together. He said the nuts on the front wheel where too thick for the space allowed between the forks. A quick trip the hardware store and the bike was together.
It rides well, is very solid and stable (and a bit heavy). The hand brake is hard for him to squeeze at the moment as his fingers are just long enough to reach the brake, but not strong enough to squeeze it with one hand. Luckily the bike also has coaster brakes so he uses those.

My husband put the bike together no problems. Very nice looking, our 6 year old is going to love it! Christmas 2010 gift :)

I purchased this product as well as the girl purple/turquise bike as Christmas gifts for 2 of my grandkids.

Prior to placing my order I did read other reviews regarding assembly of bikes and issues with putting the brakes on, my fiance had no problems putting the bikes together and it took him about 30 mins or so for each bike. (not long at all)

The only thing is that the girl bike is a darker turquise than what the picture shows but I am more than happy with the purchase.

It isn't Christmas yet so the grandkids havent had a chance to ride the bikes but I am sure they will be very happy with their gifts.

This is a very nice heavy duty bike both times...The first one that was sent we put together, and the directions are horrible. When we got to the brakes section it got even worse. While we were doing what the instructions said there was a pop and the brakes had broken. So we took it back and hurried to get another one before my stepsons birthday. Well this one got here and we are having another issue with the brakes. The brakes just are not centered and one side sticks. We are now having to take it to a bike shop, on top of the price to buy it to have someone get them right. Other then the brake issue it is a very nice looking bike and rides well.
