This car seat is very heavy!!! After a c-section you dont want to be picking up 27 pounds (weight of the seat and baby). I developed tendinitis in my rotator cuff and I swear its from lifting that thing up and down. I love the look of it and the safety though. I purchased this as a travel system and I love the stroller. I think its pretty easy to clean to since all the fabric comes off and I throw it in the washer. I would only recommend this car seAt to a body builder.

I love this car seat. It is a breeze to use. Yes, it is heavy, but it's well worth it to keep our little guy safe. I can still carry him short distances in it without difficulty, and he weighs nearly 20 pounds. I have an Uppa Baby stroller and it snaps easily into the adapter. It also works nicely with my Bob Revolution adapter. The fabrics that are available are also fabulous. Not only is this car seat the safest (in my opinion), it's very stylish!! Also, we travel frequently, and my little guy seems very comfy and sleeps like a champ.

Purchased this item for our second baby. We we're looking for something that's safe, sturdy & compatible with the Maclaren Techno XLR. This product met our expectations!! Perfect in every way, and i have no regrets purchasing it. I see complaints in other comments, of it being too heavy. I agree it's a bit heavier than other car seats, but who would want a flimsy car seat for their precious cargo...?? Plus, it's not something that you'll continuously be carrying around on your arm, all day everyday. I would definitely recommend this product!

We are having our second child and replacing our Peg Perego stroller and car seat. Great quality and very safe. The "Travel system" is the only way to go and as we can see in the four years since our last child there are about 10 "knock offs" If you buy a Peg Perego car seat and a Graco car seat you probably didnt do any product investigation and therefore arent using the product correctly.

This seat should not be getting knocked for being heavy--it's heavy for a reason. It has a steel frame. Only Peg Perego and Britax have steel frames. That's what will save your child in an accident, not cheap plastic. Those are the only two brands I will buy. I like that this seat has Side Impact Protection and the highest SIP rating on the market, that you don't have to rethread the harness to change the height, and I like the padding. However, I do not like how twisty the straps tend to get.

We welcomed our first child into our family last month and this was the car seat we selected. I wish I could go back in time and change that purchase. There is no doubt that the car seat is safe, but so are a lot of other car seats. The car seat is VERY heavy and unless you want to use a Peg Perego stroller, which we didn't, it doesn't really work with other strollers as well, even with the car seat adapter. If we have a second child, we'll be looking at other car seats.

We chose this car seat for our first born after hours of research, reading reviews and looking at other models in the store. This car seat is fabulous and it's really too bad people are giving it a 1 star rating for its weight. That is just lazy. First of all, this car seat does NOT weigh 20lbs without a baby in it...I don't even think it weighs 20lbs with the base attached (and of course you're not carrying that around). Our baby was 6 and a half pounds at birth and snuggled right in there and falls sound asleep every time we put her in still at 4 months old. I would have to agree with much of what the previous review said about what the comments from the hospital. Our nurses were incredibly impressed with the quality and sturdiness of the car seat and commented that they get tired of seeing how many people buy the cheapest, flimsiest car seats just to save a buck. They also complimented the base in our car and how tight it was installed (it was very easy to install and it does tighten in there really well!). This car seat is one of the safest models on the market and has the highest SIP rating of any car seat. There are other ways to save money on baby items...don't try to save a buck on a cheap car seat. You can't put a price on your baby's safety. It is wonderful that these car seats are compatible with any of the Peg strollers (I would recommend the Pliko :-). Sure the car seat is a bit heavy but this means that it's sturdy and isn't going to crumble on impact and it's a bit bulky but it's not as though you're walking through the stores carrying it...you put it on a shopping cart or in a stroller so that is a non-issue. I think people need to stop complaining about the weight and price of this item. I would buy this car seat over and over again and think it's too bad it received poor ratings for something so trivial and unimportant.

I decided on this car seat based on my own research and the input of another parent who uses it and likes it. We do too! While it is heavy, it is very safe. Although it is bulky, it is very user friendly. The latch for the base and the SIP adjustment lever are very easy to use. The adjustable strap in front of the seat allows you to make certain that the child is very snug and safe. One note though, when we took this to the hospital to be tested with our child, the nurses did not know how to operate it and told us we had to buy a new one. After showing them how to operate it they said it was cool and the doctor seat it was a great seat. Therefore, don't expect this seat to be as simple as cheaper ones but it won't require a degree in rocket science. Just read the directions. The SIP cannot be removed from the seat. Moreover, the fact that this fits with ANY of the Peg Perego strollers sealed the deal for us. Moreover, our child was born premature and under five pounds and, with the insert provided by the hospital, she fits in it with no problem. When our daughter was released from the hospital her doctor and nurse said that they wish more parents would have this brand and model of seat upon discharge. Also, the nurse stated that the base appears to fit tighter than any other car seat base she has seen in her many years at the hospital. Setting the seat up is very easy and the base stays tight and snug with many removals of the seat. The tightness of the base is achieved by using the Latch system and the seat belt with the seat belt clamp. The latches for the system are more than just mere clamps found on cheaper seats. The latch system clamps on this model are similar to seat belt latches allowing for very easy installation and removal of the base. Our baby rests comfortably and safely in this seat and I am pleased with the purchase. I gives this seat my highest and strongest recommendation.

This car seat is way too heavy which I find dangerous. The car seat is over 20 pounds without the baby in it. It makes it very hard to remove the car seat from the base in the car. Way too expensive for a bad quality over weight car seat..
