I've had this bike seat for my daughter for 1 1/2 years now..shes 3(almost 3 1/2)and on the smaller side(shes alittle over 3ft and 32lbs)...its super easy to put on..takes about 20-30mins....some people complained about it scratching the bike up..there should be clear plastic covers that fit over the parts that attach to your bike, it prevents it from leaving any scratches!! i have taken this off and put it on 2 different bikes and they have both been fine!

also so people complained about this being "hard" to take off... im not sure if they ment completely(like even the rack) but if you just want to remove the seat, right under the seat cushion are 3 knobs, you unscrew those and remove the safety strap (the one thats on the pole of your bike seat) and the seat will come right off!! its the "quick release" please note that the rack will still be on, but you can ride solo!!

im about to get a new bike as my old one bit the dust :(
im excited to go riding again this spring and summer with my daughter, she ALWAYS has a blast when riding it in..i am gonna be bummed that soon she'll be too "old" for this, but its held up wonderfully over the past years!!

one this i didnt like is the "bar" that goes in front of the seat is kinda hard to take off..last year it was a pain to remove my daughter by lifting her up..im sure if i took alittle time and mussel i could remove the "bar" but i didnt..i will this year as shes gonna be too much for me to lift over to put her in and out...
other then that i love this seat, my daughter loves this seat!

got a new beach cruiser just a week ago and bought this for my daughter to ride a long, and had a whole day planed out for the next day. Tired putting it on my bike for two hours, the screws on the bottom of the carrier sat right on my fenders and dug right into them scratching my brand new bike and looks really bad now, so thank you for ruining my brand new bike, wasting two hours of my time and ruining my day i had planned for tomorrow

First impressions - I installed this today.

Installation took about 30 minutes. The separated hardware by installation step (i.e., parts for step 1 are separate from step 2) is a great idea and made installation easier.

My bike is small - a 50cm CTC Cannondale road bike with a Tubus Air rack on the back.
Other than the fact that the bottom clamps of the Bell Cocoon are connected to my rack and not the seat stays, it installed as depicted on the box and instructions. My Tubus rack has a 40 lb capacity is bolted securely to my bike's seatstays and chainstays - it isn't a flimsy rack that attaches only to your seatpost. I don't know if the bottom clamps of the Cocoon would reach my seatstays; my rack is in the way, so I'll never know.

My daughter really loved our test ride - expected to just take it for a spin around the block, but we ended up going for a 30 min ride throughout the neighborhood.

When buying this seat, I was mainly concerned about the weight, its safety and whether or not it would fit my bike.

Fit: I'm glad that it fits my bike, your mileage may vary, obvi.
And my feet don't touch any part of the child seat when I pedal - I pedal as normally as I did before the seat.

Weight: definitely changes the handling of the bike (I'm sure every child seat does).

Safety: the plastic "cocoon" around the child gives me peace of mind that if I dump the bike on its side (I tried this), the plastic would take most of the impact, not my daughter.

I'm looking forward to more fun rides with this bike seat this summer.

Compared to the prices of other seats, this one is a great deal. Putting it together was easy but I could not get it to fit on my wife's bike so I had to mount it to my bike. My 3 year old loves it and it allows the entire family to go on bike rides together. My only complaint is that I would have prefered that the mounting brackets work with the existing mounting holes on our bikes and have a disconnect without removing the seat. This would make it easier to get it on/off. Also, I would prefer that the ends of the straps mount to something but they hold well enough.

We have used this for several months daily. I did not find it too difficult to mount on the bike but it took at least an hour to mount on my 26 inch bike. I am not sure how they can say easy off for solo rides because it is NOT easy to take off. I ended up buying a cheap bike at a garage sale to just take out on solo rides. If it is easy off it escapes me how. Like other reviewers I find that there is not slot of room between the pedals and bottom of seat. I have to shift my foot slightly forward or it will continually hit the bottom of the seat. Additionally, my son is tall for his age and when he extends his foot it hits my leg. I also purchased a floor standing bike rack to park the bike as usually I am by myself and i have to put baby in then do helmet etc after he is strapped in when getting ready to ride and the seat
does make the bike easier to tip (but they all may do that. ). It does add weight to the bike and some drag but again they all may do that-- on the upside with that the extra weight seems to make it more of a workout for me.

Overall, for my son it seems safe, does not easily come loose etc. The high sides protected him as one time we were stationary and the bike fell over- I definitely think that the price is right even for the minor aggravations but I'd I had known that he would like riding so much that we would do it every day I might have invested in a more expensive or seat with fewer issues.

My son loved this seat and I always felt like he was safe. I loved how hight the back and sides came up. He generally would fall asleep in it and rest his head against the side.

Just bought this great little seat. Was really easy to install, completed by myself in less than 45 minutes with my 2 yr old "helping". Very sturdy. I'm short and stocky build and my legs don't hit the foot rests, backside doesn't hit the cross bar. Harnesses and straps are very secure. She loved the ride and we're looking forward to lots more use.

After reading the negative reviews, we bought the child carrier THEN we bought the bike. If there are gears on your bike, the carrier might not fit. Once we got the seat mounted, the baby LOVED it! And so do I. Lots of fun for both of us!

DOESN'T FIT!!!

TOO CLOSE TO THE TIRE AND THE BRACKET THAT ATTACHES TO THE FRAME WILL NOT FIT ON ANY OF THE FIVE BICYCLES WE HAVE IT IS ABOUT THREE INCHES TO NARROW.
