This device fits on the 2 parts of a seat belt for a child in a booster seat or no car seat. It sounds an alarm whenever the seat belt is opened. The alarm is of moderate volume, loud enough to be heard from the back of a mini-van but not if you have music playing loudly. It was fairly easy to install using the directions and has worked flawlessly. We haven't had to change the battery yet, so I can't comment about that. I love that it adds a measure of security, especially for those impulsive or unpredictable kids who might un-buckle themselves prematurely.

The belt gard is a great product for toddlers who may be able to buckle their own seat belt. My son who is six enjoys the sound when he unbuckles the seat belt. It gives us peace of mind that he is buckled in. Will get the product for our daughter when she is a bit older.

My 3 year old has a habit of stepping on the seatbelt buckle when she is getting into her rear facing Radian carseat and I've long been worried that I'll forget to check it when buckling her in. This awesome little gizmo has solved the problem entirely and now I feel so much safer letting her climb into her seat. I imagine this will be even more useful when she eventually transitions to a booster and needs to learn to leave the seatbelt buckled.

Belt Guard Review: AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! The 1st time my 3 year old unlatched his seat belt it scared him (I did not tell him I installed it) but since he has yet to unlatch it :)

The device lets out a short audible sound when it becomes unbuckled. The noise is not to shrill or annoying but does sound like an alarm. It has helped my 3 year old to know that Mommy WILL know when he takes he seat belt off and he is now doing a great job waiting until I say it is okay to do so. It is nice and small so not very noticeable. I do move his booster seat often in different positions in the car and the device is meant to stay on one spot. I will just have to buy more if I want to use it at more then 1 location.

Works well and doesn't interfer with proper installation of a car seat or booster. The alarm could be a little louder, I couldn't hear it over the radio.

I purchased the monterey booster seat for my 3 year old daughter and she has frequently been unbuckling her seat belt. I love the fact that the belt guard alarms the minute the car seat is unbuckled. I feel relieved knowing my daughter is safer while I'm driving with this product.
