This picture frame I thought would be good since it was a Coby brand... but it was not! It's possible that I had one that malfunctioned, but even with that it was not very easy to operate. I bought 4 different brands of digital picture frames over the holidays (all around the same price range)and besides the fact that it would only show one picture from my memory card... the setup and operation was worse than the other brands too. I found so far one of the best brands is viewsonic.

I bought this product as gifts for grandparents. I loaded pictures of kids and grandkids, so all they would have to do is plug and play - so to speak.

Pros: 1) Takes a flash drive or a SD card, so it's really easy to load pictures. A 4G flash drive is relatively cheap these days as well. 2) I inserted the flash drive into the frame while it was off then turned it on. The flash drive was recognized immediately and the slide show started immediately.

Cons: 1) It does not come with any internal memory. I called Coby to confirm this. 2) The menu and settings are pretty much useless 3) Instructions are pretty much useless 4) I did not find a way to re-order the pictures using the frame menu 5) I figured out after many hours that pictures display in the order that they are put on to the flash drive - not alphabetically. I had close to 300 pictures. 6) The resolution is low and some pictures are grainy. From a distance they're fine.

Not a pro or con: The frame itself is okay. It doesn't necessarily look cheap, but compared to our Pandigital which I love, it doesn't look quality either. Let's say I wouldn't be embarrassed to display it.

Would definitely recommend for someone on a budget. We had 3 grandparents to buy for. If looking for quality, look elsewhere.

I gave this item two stars because of the absolute lack of information regarding how to re-order the pictures and the time that it took to try and figure it out. Why was the capability to re-order so important? Because I noticed that 20 or more pictures would show one after the other of my youngest son - which I thought would come across as rather bizarre or as if we were playing favorites. After many hours of trial and error, I realized that I had transferred pictures from folders that contained images of my youngest son and then from folders with images of my oldest, etc. So the frame showed the pictures in the order that they were transferred from my pc to my flash drive which is absolutely ridiculous. In other quality frames you have the capability to re-order pictures using the frame menu itself and a "random" setting that shows pics out of order. Hope this is helpful.

I purchased this after I purchased another brand of a 7"digital picture frame and since it was on sale, I got it. It has no remote control & the buttons are just hard to press, it is cheap. I cannot believe that it's original price is [$], it is totally not worth it at all. I am returning and found another one just like the others I purchased online. Dynex. Do not waste your money,you can find a better one if you have the time to look.
