My nephew received this product for his birthday. It is a great toy, but it is very important to understand the limitations of the toy before you let the kid at it, and make sure they understand as well - or it is surely going to topple over and break. Like a real tower crane, it needs to be counterbalanced, either with some marbles, coins or metal washers. Being made out of plastic, and putting the lift out to the end of the boom, naturally it can't pick up much before it starts to tip over without some amount of counterweights. I think this is an excellent and creative toy for[$]ut it is very prone to breaking if it is not taken care of properly. However, I think this would be the case no matter how well-designed.

My 5 years old son has it for over 1 year, he loves it. I don't know why only 3 stars because it is still working after one year, I gave 4 stars because the base is very light and it can tip over easily.

Our son loves constrcution equipment so "santa" brought him this crane but when he went to use it the bucket would not lower. I tried everything to fix it and the motor would only go up. The remotes down button did nothing. We took it back to exchange it and the store did not have anymore but gave a full refund which was appreciated. In effort to help "santa" follow through I bought a new one from ToysRus online (paying for shipping was annoying). Then when this one came the horizontal motor moving the hook out or in does not work at all. I don't want to pay for another one but I think my son would be too broken hearted to take it back. Plus getting hard to explain why santa would send a dud. Recommend buying another brand crane!

    Was a Christmas present we bought only because son wanted it---read the other terrible reviews and you will get the idea. Our son loved it, but it broke after only one day of play and will not move horizontally. Very cheaply made. If you try to move the crane, the top-heavy top falls off (does not lock in), which is what made it stopped moving horizontally. Beyond that, it is just plain cheaply made. This is a brilliant idea---and like someone else wrote---I'd rather pay more and get even a little bit of quality than waste the money on this. Don't make the same mistake---so so so so disappointed---and my son is even more disappointed. Maybe there will be a better quality one some day---my son would LOVE another one that works. THIS is why I never buy Fast Lane products.
