I would say an average child will be ok here until about 18 to 24mo. or until child decides it wants to climb out. the bed does turn in a toddler bed, BUT you must buy the convertion kit separately, it says so on the descrition, features , additional information. it even tells you what you'll need to buy to convert it. this is a mini crib not a pnp, the mattress is on the thin side, but you can always purchase an extra mattress, they run on average $50. i use it for my twins, ea. one has their own and both mini's fit perfectly in my small NY appmt. i find the product sturdy, the color nice and the craftmanship just like any regular crib. this is really just a smaller version of a regular crib. it does the job without taking the extra space.

The written description of this product is what you get. This crib DOES NOT convert into a toddler bed or a full sized bed like the pictures mislead you to believe that is for the full sized 4-in-1 version of the Kalani bed.

We are still planning on getting the mini version for our son, since we live in a small apartment and it will fit our needs nicely especially since it does convert to a twin sized bed but the pictures are very misleading.

We actually received the product damaged, but emailed Million Dollar Baby (MDB) for a replacement part and it came within a week. We love the crib and we absolutely loved the quick and efficient customer service from MDB. I will look for more MDB items from now on knowing that they stand beind their product.

This is the third crib we've ordered having sent back the first two. The 4 in 1 was too big and ordered in error. The original mini-crib had too many splinters and was in oak---didn't really like the color anyway. [...] So...this is our third DaVinci crib. This one is a beautiful dark wood stain, very nice. The comments about the wood being soft....it is really soft. My husband dropped the screwdriver (from about 6 inches off of the floor) while putting it together and now we have a nice divet in the side. Oh well. But, overall, it is very nice. It seems stable. It wasn't hard to put together. My husband and I did it together when I was 8 months pregnant. Took about an hour.Of note, put it together in the room you want it. It won't fit through standard doors. This was expected but we though it might be easy to move from our room to the nursery and use for both. Not really. Once have it together there is no easy to dismantle to move with REALLY dismantling. So we ordered a bassinet for the bedroom.

We live in a small house so we decided to buy a mini crib because a regular size crib would just not fit in our room with all our furniture. We love the color and the design of the crib along with the ability to change the height of the mattress to fit our needs and those of our soon-to-be-born growing baby.

[...] Easy to assemble- took only about 45 minutes. Very sturdy and made of solid wood. Very happy with the crib and price. The color is just as expected, a rich, dark brown. You will definitely need to buy a separate mattress, the one that comes with it is VERY thin.
