I had this when I was a kid and LOVED it. (I am now 27 and had this about 20 years ago) It was a little different back then. You could make the bugs all sorts of colors, as the colors were little paint like things and you could make one bug have many differnt colors....now, it is not as cool. However, I love this set. This is so cool and fun. I would recommend it. :)

I bought this creepy crawler maker for my son for Christmas. After reading the awful reviews on it here and on [...] my husband and I decided to pull it out and give it a try tonight to see how it worked before we gave it to our son. I am SO glad we did! I REALLY wanted this to work b/c I think he would love it but it was awful. Our "ready" light never came on and finally after waiting 30 min. looked and saw the goo was ready so we filled the bug mold. After soaking it in cold water and waiting longer than the estimated 3-5 min. to cool we tried to take our bug out. It was sort of half formed and in bits and pieces. Even the head which kind of formed just sort of melted in your hand if you play with it too much. All of this took us over an hour to do! I am taking it back tomorrow and will be ordering the oven maker which has got great reviews. Please save yourself the dissapointment and the time and just don't buy this toy. I am so glad my husband and I tried it ourselves before disappointing our son!

      At first the machine worked good which is why I gave three stars. I got tired of it not heating up fast enough and getting clogged so I used my microwave.

      I heated the pods in a plastic cup for a couple seconds in my microwave and poured the liquid into the molds myself, works great every time now! Machine is useless.

            I keep telling relatives not to purchase any of these products. They are a huge disappointment. They are messy and they dont make what they say their suppose to make. They just leak sticky liquid everywhere.

                    If I could give this zero or negative stars, I would. This is the biggest piece of junk. I don't know where to start... it takes forever to heat up, the molds LEAK ALL OVER THE PLACE, it needs more bug eggs than listed in the directions, it's terrible to clean up.... the list goes ON AND ON! Just trust me, you will be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. DO NOT BUY!!!

                        I bought this expecting this to be like the one I got when I was a kid. Needless to say, it has only been out of the box once since Christmas and will not get it out again. Very disappointed with it. My Son would like to get it out but it is way to messy and does not make the bugs as good as the one I had. I am not sure who came up with this version of creepy crawlers because it does not compare to the very first version. I loved mine as a kid and am very sad for my 5 year old, who would love to make bugs. Try explaining that to a child. Will be giving this away some how. Not sure if anyone will take it.

                            Bought this product in hopes to relive some childhood fun I use to have, and was not pleased. The molds are made of plastic, where as when I was young they were made of metal. The seals between the molds to make the 3D bugs does not seal well AT ALL! The gel leaks out on all the side especially the bottom! Such a waste of money. And I do not see how mine would be considered defective. the overall design of this toy is a DISGRACE. When I was younger they were made so much better and the quality of the bugs when done was perfect. THIS COMPANY SHOULD CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS AND NOT MAKE THE CHEAPEST PRODUCT TO JUST GET THE MOST BANG FOR THEIR BUCK!!!! In this new world we live in I am afraid for my children because they are going to grow up with toys that are made of C**P and will fall apart quickly and not work. WHERE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHERE COMPANIES ACTUALLY CARED!

                                My 6 year old son received this for Christmas. First use was a bad experience. The molds leaked very badly. We couldn't make any bugs. I e-mailed the company about the issue. The suggested the eggs might have too much water in them and I should remove the foil and expose them to the air for up to 48 hours. I did this and let them sit for 48 hours. We tried again and everything worked perfectly. My son made 6 bugs (3 eggs per bug) and was asking for more eggs.

                                I'm glad I contacted the company about the leaky mold issue. We were on the verge of returning the product and now have a wonderful toy my son loves to use.
