Description

The Fisher-Price Rock, Roll 'N Ride Trike is a great child's first tricycle. It starts as a stationary rocker. With the flip of the rocker base, it converts to a trike with a parent-assist handle. Then, by removing the base, it converts again to a stand-alone trike.

Since 1930, Fisher-Price has been in business to create toys that fascinate and stimulate a child's imagination. Fisher-Price was founded in 1930, hardly the best time to launch a new business as the shadows of the Depression still loomed over American business. Still, Herman Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle combined their diverse manufacturing and retailing experience to create a toy company and confidently brought 16 wooden toys to the International Toy Fair in New York City. The whimsical nature and magical surprises of those first Fisher-Price toys quickly caught on and became the hallmarks of Fisher-Price ever since. Fisher-Price believes in the potential of children and in the importance of a supportive environment in which they can grow, learn, and get the best possible start in life. Fisher-Price supports today's families with young children through our breadth of products that includes GeoTrax, Imaginext, Little People, Laugh and Learn, Thomas the Tank, Thomas and Friends, Elmo, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Sesame Street, Smart Cycle, Ni Hao Kai-Lan, Toy Story and other learning toys and pretend play items.

The rocking feature is GREAT for children learning to walk and "rookie" walkers. There are great foot foot rest just below the seat for short legs that may not reach the pedals. Our son used the rocker like crazy for over 6 months then was delighted to try the tricycle. The handle is long enough for a parent up to 6-feet to not stoop over. The child can rest her/his feet on the foot rest or help "pedal."

This toy was used by our son for a year and a half and he mastered pedaling the trike. His sister also used it for a full year. Now, it lives across the street and is on kid #4. Great investment for any family!

My son loves this thing but it can be a bit of a pain for me. The rocker is great but when we go outside for walks it's a bit difficult for me since I'm taller and the handle doesn't adjust. Also the steering is up to my son and he hasnt quite figured out how to steer by himself yet so I wind up having to bend over to straighten up the handle bars frequently. The foot rests also come out of the upright position often since it doesn't lock in place and we wind up running his toes over a lot as his feet get dragged under the bike. Difficult to put together but was priced very reasonably so I thought I would give it a try for my son's first birthday. I should have purchased the Smart Trike...

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Rock, Roll 'N Ride Tricycle:

We got this as a gift from grandma for our daughters 1st birthday. I was so happy she got it.
Its nice and my daughter loves it but I wish it rocked more. Annie really has to try to make it rock or I just sit next to her and rock it. We have used the push mode too (around the house and to the mailbox) and she likes that but shes still young so we only go short distances. I wish it came with a belt or strap but I just have to keep an eye on her

We got this for his first Christmas and never used it much until this summer. He is finally old enough to steer and peddle well enough to make it a good fit. He is too old (at least he thinks so) for a stroller so this makes it possible for us to still go on longer walk/rides...when he gets tired I just push him. I am short so the push bar is a fine height for me but I can see how it would be too short for a tall person. I think that this is the perfect amount of freedom for my son right now.

We bought this for my first born who is now about to turn 7 yrs. He loved the rocking feature when he was younger... as he grew we converted it to the tricycle where we would push it using the push bar. Great for me since I'm 5 ft. 3" but a little to low for my husband to push without having to scooch down alittle. My second son who is now going to be 4 yrs. also enjoyed it. They both fight for it out on the driveway. Great durability and loved how it grew with them through the years. The front wheel is just starting to get a small hole from them stopping and sliding on the ground without using their feet. I would recommend this for anyone considering it. My 6 yr old is about 45 lbs and still rides on it. Easy to convert from the rocker to the trike. My 3 yr old can easily do this himself.

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Rock, Roll 'N Ride Tricycle:

We received this as a gift from my in-laws. My 1 year old son loves getting on it and rocking. We are looking forward to using it as he grows through the stages of this bike. I am 5'5" and the push handle is an okay length for me, but I can see how it would be too short for taller people. My one suggestion for making this an even more useful bike is to change the way it is mounted, such that the front wheel can still be pedaled while in rocking mode. This would help a child learn to pedal without having to also worry about steering. Also, it'd be a great way to burn up some energy on rainy days!!

I received this as a hand me down from my mother in law who had 6 grandchildren play with it. So its takin a beating. Its in our basement now in the rocker position. My son who is turning 2 this month has used it all winter long indoors as a rocker and loves it. I dont really want to use it outdoors. I wish it had a seat belt. And wish the front wheel had an option to lock it in place if you wish it to lock. I only recommend this for indoors. If it had a seatbelt I would recomment it for outdoor use.

The best feature about this item is that folds into rocker for indoor use. The height of the handle for the parents to use is too short. I'm 5'6" not too tall so you'd think I'd be able to push it comfortable. Not so much. I wish it had a feature that locks the front wheel so when it's being pushed the child cannot steer. I find myself hunched over pushing this thing down the street with my son attempting to drive.

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Rock, Roll 'N Ride Tricycle:

I only bought the rock, roll n' ride trike XL because I had read that FP had fixed the short push bar for parents. I would strongly disagree. While I am a FP fan, a simple fix of adding an extension piece for converting from rocker to trike would solve the problem. I am 5'7" and have to be bent over in order to push the trike. The trike lacks some of the bells and whistles of the more expensive trikes, such as being able to turn the front wheel to steer, but I was willing to pass on those features for a brand I like and simplicity. Very disappointed that FP has yet to address the push bar problem.

My 13-month old granddaughter just wasn't interested in the "rocking" trike, but loves the "rolling" one. She loves climbing on it for me to push her around inside the house. Since she can't quite reach the pedals, she puts her feet up on the center part and rocks herself back and forth to tell me to get going!
