In 2007, Super Mario Galaxy took the world of video games by storm. Now, Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Nintendo Wii, the first true Mario sequel in years, re-energizes the franchise with new levels and new power-ups. This time Mario gets to team up with his dinosaur buddy, Yoshi, who adds new possibilities to the gravity-defying game play. It's everything you love about the first game and more.

New levels


Mario collects stars as he travels from galaxy to galaxy. Every level is new, but the game retains the charm, sense of wonder and beauty in line with Mario's history. Mario works his way through the various levels, sometimes upside-down, sometimes floating from place to place.


Old friends


In some stages Mario can find an egg, smash it open and hop onto the back of Yoshi. Yoshi can use his tongue to grab items and shoot them back at enemies or to snag attach points and swing across chasms.


New actions


Yoshi has an interesting diet. When he eats a Dash Pepper, he gets so hot and frenzied he can run up steep inclines and vertical walls. When he eats a Blimp Fruit, he inflates like a balloon and floats to new heights.


New power-ups and challenges


New power-ups include a drill that Mario uses to tunnel through a planet's surface all the way to the other side. Collect new Comet Metals which will unlock harder levels with even more challenges.

Oh my god. What a game. Yes, this game is better than the original galaxy, but if you are debating buying this or the first I would buy the first because there are some storyline components that might make more sense if you have played the first. Ok, on to the review! Stunning graphics, amazing level design, and the way Yoshi is used in some levels is just amazing. Also it is longer than the first game- with 242 stars to collect, and the option to play as Luigi early in the game. Sometimes difficult, sometimes not. If you have never played a Mario game before the game would be very challenging. It can be played and enjoyed by all ages. one of the few games I have little to complain about. My only gripe is that the multiplayer can be further improved. If you have a Wii, this is a worthwhile purchase. Bring on a third galaxy!

          Very fun.This game not only is fun but it gives a good challenge. The amount of content is extreme(in a good way)once you get every power star(total of 120) you can start collecting the green stars or cosmic jewels.The green stars put your true skills to the test.there are 120 green stars then you get to two more power stars which are the hardest to obtain.That's a whopping total of 242 stars to collect .
