bumGenius Diaper Detergent was developed in partnership with Country Save, a well recognized, respected face in the cloth diapering industry. We are excited to be able to release a detergent product specifically designed for use with cloth diapers.

bumGenius Diaper Detergent is free of dyes, optical brighteners, fragrances, enzymes and phosphates. There are 66 loads (based on front loader usage) per box and the scoop has been specially designed for cloth diapers. The product is packaged in an award-winning, environmentally certified box. It is certified for use in HE washers. It is approved for use with bumGenius diapers.

USAGE NOTE: Scoop is sized for normal water conditions. Actual use may have to be modified based on your water type, the age of your child and the condition of your diapers. Use more detergent if you have hard water. Be sure to wash diapers every other day. For best results, rinse poopy diapers using the bumGenius Diaper Sprayer.

We use this detergent on cloth diapers, diaper covers, and fleece wipes. It takes out all odors, but we do have a problem with poop stains on our 6 week old daughters diapers and diaper covers. I spray the dirty diapers and use a soaking agent, but there are still light brown/yellow stains. I don't think it is from the detergent though.

I was our BumGenius diapers 3-4 times a week using this detergent. It works great at getting the diapers white and odor free. I still have to bleach them once every month or two, as the company recommends. I've also used this to wash my infants clothes if she makes a big mess in them that would otherwise leave a stain.
Leave the box in a plastic bag, otherwise you will have a mess since the detergent leaks out of the box.

I have never had a problem with this product. I have been using it religiously now for 8 months, and i wouldn't recommend any other soap for your cloth diapers :)

I hadn't realized in the first few months how important detergent was and then had to strip my diapers due to smell from detergent build-up. I bought Bum Genius since we had a BRU gift certificate, but I think the next time I'll go with widely recommended cloth diapering friendly natural detergents - although I've had no problems with this detergent. I would do so based on cost. Interestingly even Cotton Babies (who make BG) don't recommend their own detergent on their website - an oversight, but still.

I haven't tried too many detergents but chose this one for the price (fairly low, not necessarily lowest) and quantity (good size to try out). The box is small enough that it doesn't take up too much space in my laundry closet since I use a different detergent for all laundry besides my cloth diapers. The scoop is quite convenient. It doesn't always get out the poop stains but sun bleaching always does the trick. So, overall I am satisfied with the performance.

I think I'll continue to use this detergent or try Country Save's normal line.
