Louis Phillippe Collection incorporates style elements from the Directoire Empire Era, covering a period of time from 1789 to 1860. In the collection there are full round post details, deep molding profiles, and historically correct hardware. The finish in this collection is deep, well worn traditionary cherry color that captures the essence of fine living.

I shopped for months looking for good quality furniture for my son. From low end to top of the line furniture, I saw it all and never thought I would find this set at Babies R Us of all places. When I came across this collection online my husband and I drove an hour and a half to see it in person as we were both skeptical, but as soon as I saw it I knew it would last a lifetime. The quality craftmanship you get from this collection is unlike any other I've seen and the extra features such as the cedar drawer made it a great price for what you are getting compared to the higher end furniture brands out there. I cannot say enough about this collection and I would recommend it over and over again to anyone who would listen.

Due to limited storage in the nursery my husband and I decided to splurge on this piece (we have the convertible crib and dresser in the Louis Philippe collection)to hold baby linens, toys, books and other baby essentials. This item is well made and just lovely. There are 2 interior drawers (one lined with cedar) and three shelves plus a clothing bar (which we found rather pointless for anything more than newborn clothing unless you want to eliminate all the shelves to store coats or adult clothes). This is a fine piece of furniture with wood on wood glide drawers (not your typical baby furniture purchase). This is a piece we will keep in our home for a very long time, even if we re-purpose it in another room once our son is older. Just so everyone knows, if you purchase anything is the Bassett Louis Philippe line, expect to find pin hole "flaws" in the wood (found in clusters). This is not a defect, but part of the natural wood and adds character to the piece, and is a reminder that it is solid wood. Overall I am very pleased with our purchase but feel is is rather expensive.
