Product Description

Red Rover is a memory-matching game combined with run-around play. It features an adorable electronic talking dog and 12 bones with a color and number, shape, or letter. The object of the game is to collect the most bones. The game is set up by placing the 12 bones randomly around a space. The game starts when preschoolers press the Red Rover nose and he calls out which bones he wants. Preschoolers run to find the right bone and feed it to rover. If they're right, they keep the bone. If they're wrong, Red Rover encourages them to go back and find the right one! Whoever helps Rover the fastest wins!

  • 1 cute, electronic talking dog
  • 12 bones with colors, numbers, shapes and letters
  • Also features all-in-one game storage in Red Rover's backpack

my boys 4 and 5 years old love this. It is a very durable game. Great sounds and good education value. However if you are buying this to teach letters probably not the best as it only contains A-D and numbers 1-4. Takes awhile between turns but it hasn't bothered my kids so far. My son slept with it tonight so he definitely loves this.

My 3yr old boy received this as a Christmas gift. I thought it would be a fun way to practice colors. He has played it a few times, but it doesnt really amuse him. I think he is actually most amused by getting the answer wrong & hearing Rover say "Not that bone my friend!" (He's 3, what can I say? lol)
He is an only child, so he & I normally play this together. I think he Might have more fun with it with a group of kids.
I really like that the bones store in Rover's backpack so they dont get lost when not being played with! Thats a great thing.
But over all everything considered- its just an okay game.

Comments about Mattel 1001134 Red Rover Game:

I bought this for my son for Christmas, he was 3. At first he needed help to understand what to do but after a couple times playing it with him he could do it it on his own. They colors, shapes, letters on each bone and so they learn as they're playing. He also barks and pants too. My son also dropped the dog a bunch and it still works like new.

Comments about Mattel 1001134 Red Rover Game:

This was originally purchased for my 2nd daughter's 5th birthday. She enjoyed it for awhile, but then it got put on a shelf and forgotten. About a year later I pulled it out for my 3 year old and she loves it! She usually plays the game by herself, since her sister's are older, but it still teaches her shapes/colors/letters/numbers. I love that the bones are stored right in the backpack. Oh, and this game has been dropped down the stairs numerous times and is still going strong! Overall, it's a great educational game for 2-4 year olds.

Red rover was a gift to my 6 year old brother. He just has learning disabilities so he's still on the basics. I was great but eventually after we opened it the purple bone wasn't included. We didn't lose it because the first time we tried it and the dog asked for the purple bone it wasn't there. Also there should be a mute button on the barking while my brother is getting the bone! (I probably missed it though)

My daughter who made 2 1/2 on Christmas day got this as a Christmas gift. We LOVE this game. It is one of her favorite gifts she got for Christmas. She can play alone or with others, all the pieces store in the backpack which is GREAT for keeping them all together. It holds her attention and has a great educational value in addition to being fun.

This is a great toy for the price. My three year old loves it. She was great with her colors already so I like how there is two levels so she can have a challenge or just have a fun refresher. Also allows multiple age levels to play which is a plus for a family or to play with friends. I love that rover has the backpack that stores the bones so you don't lose them!

This is a really cute toy giving you a small assorment of numbers, letters and shapes to learn. My 2year old loves 'feeding' rover the bones.

My son found it too easy, not challeging enough. would be excellent for a 1year old

I bought this gift for my friend's son who is having trouble with his numbers and letters. He has only had it for a few days and she said she already noticed a difference. It's a fun way to teach your children and they don't even know they are learning. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child that has difficulty with numbers letters and colors.

My three year old loves this game! We just got it yesterday and my daughter has already played it several times. It is true you have to get the bone in just right, but my daughter does not seem to have any trouble getting the bone in. I would highly reccomend this game. You don't need a bunch of people, my daughter and I just sit together and play. It's a good way to learn colors, shapes, numbers, and letters.

All the stickers were wrong on the bones!! I had to peel off the stickers and reattach them to the bones!! Whoever put this one together had some color and shape matching issues!! What a pain in the butt!!! Other than that my son loved running around the room looking for bones, we sometimes hide them under pillows so he could "dig" for them. I do wish they had more bones though, to me the game is more for a 2 year old then 3+. All in all a cute game
