My 7 year old son received this as a gift. Not worth the money - very cheaply made. If you can get it to focus on anything it doesn't stay in focus. You can spend a lot of time trying to get it focused and finally just give up. The light coming out of the eye piece is enough to make you feel like you've just looked into the sun!

My daughter loves science and astronomy. We went to toys are us for her birthday and she picked this out. She was so excited to use it but was disappointed when we got home took it out of the box and with brand new batteries it did not work. I tried the example slide that came with it as well as a piece of my own hair and it did not work with either. With the telescope it did not work to see the stars, sky, or moon. The manufacture should be ashamed of themselves for even thinking about selling this useless product.

You can see the moon much better without the telescope that with. We did not even try the microscope after reading the reviews. I was very disappointed because this was a Christmas gift and we did not try it out for several days. The box had been thrown away and the store would not take it back without the packaging even though we had the receipt.

Of all products to NOT include some kind of "How To Guide". The only thing that we found was or is redeeming about this product, is the bright color. It's hard to focus, no matter how long you try to focus, it does not work! For the price, it is a shame that this is sold to kids.
Our daughter was excited about getting it as a present, but then after trying to use it, she was very disappointed, and so were we. Anyone selling this product should really read the comments that are posted and think seriously about selling this particular product.

We got this as a gift and we were very excited to use it. We could not see anything in it. We fooled around with all of the knobs and still could see nothing.
We will be looking for a higher quality microscope.

The microscope is really not well made. The quality is poor and it is disappointing for the child. You cannot see anything through the eyepiece. The viewer is really low quality. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I took my son to Toys R Us to spend his birthday money and he choose this item. We got it home and there is one "sample" slide you can view under the microscope and after one hour of trying to focus it in, we got it, but was very very fuzzy. Microscope is worthless. Telescope was a little better but images were still fuzzy. Don't buy! The only pro's were that it is a pretty set!
