My 4 year old got this for his birthday with two titles (Batman and HandyManny). He picked it up and started playing right away. We didn't really need to sit with him to show him how to play as we often do with other computer games. He will sit for hours practice writing, reading and playing the games. I like the idea that you load the software from the computer...less game cartridges to loose plus you don't have to worry about grabbing all but the one he really wants to play when running out the door we only have to grab the game and go.
