Do not buy this!!This product does NOT work! Very dim light with faint shadows as your image which are impossible to see. AS someone else had posted your better off using a flashlight. I bought this as a gift for my son and he was very disappoionted when he used it. He thought it was broke. But sad to say, it was not. Photo on the box is very misleading! This is the worst product I have ever bought. Insulting childrens intelligence is not something I take lightly. The makers should be ashamed!

What a joke, I would have given it negative stars if that was an option. This product does absolutely nothing. You can barely see the light and as many others reported the box/packaging is very misleading. It shows a vibrant color image on the screen but what you really get is a faint black and white shadow.
We were very, very disappointed with this product.

This thing is a complete piece of junk and Toys R Us's return policy is horribly deceiving if not just downright illegal. The product didn't work and when we returned it to the store and told them, "this thing simply doesn't work," their answer was "you opened the box so we can not give you back your money." Whatever happened to warranty or merchantability? Is it so unreasonable to expect a reseller to stand by the product they sell? Toys R Us stinks!!

We were very, very disappointed with this product. The box shows a brightly lit screen. The screen is poorly lit, you can't see anything but dim, black blobs. Will be returning.

Does not work. Get a real one instead

Got this as a gift for my son. Opened it up and tried to use it. Couldn't see a thing, only shadows. it was back-lit and we used the included slides and still saw nothing of value or interest.

The cover image is very misleading with it's colors and glam. The toy is nothing like that and really is just a toy with little microscopic value. If this is what you were intending then this i what you will get, nothing more.

Do your kid a favor and get them a real microscope or one that can perform significantly better micro-scoping powers.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
