Have used these since the begining and always worked well. Comfortable and easy to use. No matter what kind of cover you buy, its a pain to put around the mattress, especially with a bumper on it. However I have always been more comforatble with a pad that it tight around the mattress.
I felt the material and knew it shouldn't be put in the dryer. Have never had a problem with these. Great for the price

i received 2 for my baby shower - they didnt even make it past the first initial wash & dry - if you purchase - hang on a line to dry, do NOT use a dryer - the description says "tumble dry low", which i did, the plastic layer shriveled up & melted. i was going to return except i remembered my crib mattress has a waterproof outside liner, so i cut the melted plastic part out of the cover and am just going to use it as a regular quilted topper underneath the sheet.

I purchased two of these matress covers for my daughter's nursery figuring it would be likely to need more than one given diaper blowouts are never pretty. I washed one and tossed it in the drier on low as directed by the care instructions. When I took the first one out of the drier, I noticed much of the waterproof part of the pad had melted making it unusable. By this time the second one had already made it into the washer and was ready to be dried. I decided not to put it in the drier and hang-dry it instead, which would have worked if it didn't drip water all over my carpeted floor. Exasperated, I tossed the second matress pad cover into the drier on the no heat setting. I checked it incrementally throughout the drying process, and it still came out of the drier with spots that were melted. So, we're now down two matress pads and about [$] in the hole - I'm not sure what to do at this point other than to hope the waterproof matress we have in baby's crib is easy to clean.

Mine lasted through the better part of 2 kids. I liked how the material remains smooth throughout washings, as opposed to the more common fleecey-style, which pills up, that I see these days.
I didn't have a problem with drying the lining for the longest time. On occasion, it would get a little hole from something in the washer, but that was it. I wash practically all my clothes in cold water and dry them low temperature. My pad cover gets washed with a bunch of clothes, but I didn't have a problem until I restarted the dryer one time to just get out some wrinkles. They were already all dry, and then it finally melted together. I admit that I just tore out the lining and still use it; it's nice to not have to fight to get it on the mattress like my other one. I need to get a new one, which I will take out of the dryer before anymore extraneous wrinkle-releasing drying.

I bought this item before reading any reviews on it. I was very worried I would have to return but I decided to wash it first. I washed it in cold water by itself and made sure to dry it on super low. I even ran it in the dryer twice since it was still damp after one cycle. I took it out and it was perfect. There was no shrinkage or pulls and the peva did not melt. I wonder if other are still drying it on a too high of a temperature. I only gave it 4 stars because daughter has not used it yet. She is due in 3 weeks.

I had to return two of these mattress covers after washing and drying them following the directions. Although the product tag said that they could be dried on a low setting, the plastic underneath melted together. It was a total mess. Luckily, Babies R Us is wonderful and returned the product for a full refund without question. I did purchase a two different mattress pad covers, they have the PEVA inside two layers of fleece, but I still line-dried the products to be on the safe side.

I washed this according to the directions and the cheap plastic waterproof backing MELTED, thankfully not onto the other items in the dryer. When I called the store, the clerk said this was TYPICAL!!! Do not buy this product.

I made sure to check the drying instructions before putting in the dryer since it has a peva backing and even on tumble dry low the material melted all over itself and my dryer. I think Babies R Us needs to update the washing instructions to no heat/fluff when putting in the dryer. Also, in addition to this piece melting, some of the babies r us lap and large waterproof pads (the ones with the sheep and clouds pattern on them) melted together as well - those also had tumble dry low instructions on them. If purchasing make sure not to dry them with heat.

Washed and dried it first and it came out fine and fit over the mattress fine. Maybe some people have dried it with the waterproof liner facing the dryer which caused it to melt. I gave it 4 stars because we haven't had an accident on it yet so I do not know how it will hold up when that happens.
