We purchased as a night light for our 5-yr-old's Star Wars room. This is his FAVORITE thing in his room! My husband put it together for him easily -- he even wanted to laminate the fold-out flyer that tells in detail how light sabers work! The light saber part of it was thinner than I'd expected, but my 5-yr-old was greatly impressed! He uses the remote control from his bed to turn it off, on, and change the color of the light saber -- the light is mounted on the wall approx. 12 feet away from his bed. When you change the color, it makes different light saber noises/sounds, and since my son knows which characters use which color light sabers, he's constantly pretending to do battle from across the room with whichever character's color is lit. Before, bedtime was a constant battle in our household. Now, my son races to bed, asking me to hurry up and turn off the lights so he can turn on the light saber! Wish we'd bought this months earlier!

    My sons each got one of these for their b-days. Perfect for the room we were redoing. They love the remote control to turn it different colors and the sounds. There is even one setting where the lightsaber will change from color to color after 5 seconds. What I love as a mom is that after 20 minutes it will turn off without the sound so if they fall asleep it doesn't wake them. If they turn it off themselves it makes the noise.

      Some assembly required, but not complex assembly. I've noticed a lot of people that purchased this item had complaints. I have none. The item worked perfect after careful assembly. It lights up, and makes the famous Light Saber sound, but don't expect to be able to read a book or anything with the light from the Lightsaber. The light is a "soft light". So its not super bright, but its not dim. I for one am happy that I purchased this.

          This is a horrible product that no one should buy. It is cheaply made and does not work. We purchased one for Christmas, put it together and the light didn't work, so we called ToysRUs and they shipped us a new one within 2 days. The new one doesn't work either. The only positive that came from this experience is that the customer service through ToysRUs was great.

          DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! You will be disappointed with it.

                                      I bought this for my son for a Christmas gift. My husband got it all put together and it didn't work. He has a degree in electronics, so he even tried some other tricks to get it to work but nothing helped. What a disappointment! Glad I could take it back and get our money back.
