The Play Doh brand is proud to celebrate over 50 years of colorful, creative play. Play Doh first introduced in 1956, Play Doh modeling compound has become a classic and beloved toy, used in homes and schools around the world by children of all ages. In 1956 Play Doh Brand modeling compound, a non-toxic reusable modeling compound developed by Rainbow Crafts in Cincinnati, Play Doh was demonstrated and sold in the toy department of Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Washington, D.C.             While this isn't the best Play Dough set out there, my 3 year old son still enjoys it. It is great for playing with while I make dinner. He can do a lot of it himself and rarely needs help. He made 4 cakes the other night and was quite pleased with them. If you are only buying 1 set, this wouldn't be the right choice but if you have other sets and want some variety, this one is good fun.

            It's way to complicated for a 3 year old. Being that it's hard to use, it's not very fun. My sister's 6 yr old and 10 yr old didn't care for it either. However,I would definatly reccommend the Play-Doh Zoo Shapin' Fun Set. All 3 children enjoyed it.

              This was a gift for my 3 1/2 year old daughter.My daughter loves playing with it .The only thing I find that I dont like about it is ...It is hard to get the pieces on and off the cake station. Other than that its great.I help her and play with it .If you enjoy playing with your children, I think this is a fun item.If the kids are under 4 or maybe 5 years old, might need help getting the pieces on and off the cake station.

                  This is a terrible toy. It is hard to work with, especially for a 3 year old and the pictures on the box make it seem as if you can do all this great stuff, but you really can't. Broke about a month after we got it (only the 3rd time using it). Very disappointed. Don't waste your money on this one, there's got to be better play-doh toys out there.

                      We bought this for our 3 and 5 year old kids to play with - it's AWFUL! The set really only allows you to put an "icing" type layer on the plastic "cakes" - not build/create a cake yourself ... and the Cake-Making apparatus is HARD for the kids to actually use (I have to do it for them, and I even find it "clunky" to work with) ... The only thing my kids DO like is the Cupcake Press/Mold ... but other than that, the set isnt' very fun. They prefer the Play-Doh Kitchen set much more, which also allows for a lot more creative play.

                      I'm a teenager and I loved this! I baby sit two girls,9 and 10 and they had this at their house. We played with it for hours! We would have played longer but we didn't have enough time.:( I'm not a little kid but I loved it. I totally recommend this! Gr8 fun!
                      The only problem was we needed more playdoh so we could do more! It would also be great if there were more designs! I love being creative with playdoh!

                        Got this for my girls for xmas. It arrived so stuffed in the box that the device used to push down and design the top was tweaked and didn't work right. We got already to play it and we couldn't. My daughter was really disappointed. We then took it back and found another. The two remaining boxes that the store had were opened (probably from being stuffed in the box). We managed to assemble a working product from the two opened boxes and took it home. When we finally did start to play with it it was lame. The rotating piece that is used to stamp on the top of the cake was huge and didn't work that great. It also had way too many little nooks where play-doh pieces got trapped in. There wasn't much to the cake design. Instead of a cake made of play-doh you end up with plastic pieces that have play-doh on them. All the play-doh got mixed together on the first use and I'm definitely taking it back.
