My daughter got this doll for her 3rd birthday. We kept her in the shower. She worked for a few months, but not very long - figured it was the batteries. Changed the batteries, still didn't work. Disappointed.

I just read some of the other comments that said in fine print on the package, it says not to submerge the doll in water. I think that is crazy!! It's a singing in the bath doll! That is the point! I recommend the Ariel Barbie with wind up fins for the tub.

My daughter used this twice in the tub since we didn't read the fine print that the toy could NOT be submerged. We did drain it after both uses. After those two times in the tub, the toy shorted out and made some really creepy noises at night.

That was 2 months ago. I must have forgotten to take the batteries out, because tonight a terrifying voice came out of Ariel saying "Wanna Play?" And then as we took the batteries out, she said "Goodnight."

I would NOT recommend buying this toy.

My Mother got this doll for my daughter's 2nd B'day, my daughter went to play with it in the tub and it stopped working went to replace batteries and water got in it, it wasn't sealed right put new batteries in it still won't work I guess cause of the water in it AND her hair is coming out, no my daughter isn't pulling the hair out it just comes out by its self..

I, apparently like a lot of the other reviewers here did not realize that "BATH" Ariel was not to be submerged. My 4 yr old daughter got her for Christmas, and the doll was so sweet singing and talking, I really liked it. The doll's little voice was adorable. However, after only one time in the tub, tonight we went to play with it at bathtime and whadyaknow....doesn't work. We too tried changing the batteries...nothing. Guess I'm the stupid one for making assumptions. Really makes me angry because the doll was so cute. And to top it off, who wants an unhappy child?!

My 2 yr. old just bathed with it and she loved it. I dried and brushed the hair and it looks fine.

Our daughter was so excited to get this doll for Christmas and actually took a bath with her on Christmas night - and she typically hates baths! Ariel sang and our daughter actually enjoyed bath time! However, we went to play with her today and she no longer works. We had no idea you couldn't submerge "singing in the BATH Ariel" We took the batteries out to dry them out but after reading other reviews I don't think we will have any luck. Don't waste your money on this one!

My 2 1/2 year old daughter asked for this doll last xmas.. it was all she wanted.. and the doll has been loved and well used. Lots of bathtime fun. Singing and swimming. I will complain about the hair. once it hits the tub it will never be the same again. I read a review where a mom said this doll never went in the tub.. and her daughter loved it.. I would agee. If your daughter loves Ariel. get it.

my 2yr old daughter loves ariel and all of the princess so we got this doll, nice doll but definately not made for the bath..the 1st time she took it in the tub all the water was pouring out from speaker part on chest and i dried her out on her stomach on a towel..after like 3 baths all of a sudden she would start talking in bathroom without being played with in the middle of the night and by the 2nd night of it happening she shorted out..i tried changing batteries but she no longer works..my daughter still plays with her but its a shame that its suppose to be made for water and is now broken..if u get it just keep it to play with do not put it in the bath

My daughter was so excited to get a bath toy especially a singing ariel for her birthday, but after the 2nd time in the tub she stopped working. I finally took it out and opened up the battery compartment and the batteries were dissolving in the compartment. This is not a bath doll and can not be submerged. Called customer service and they said I could mail it in with my own money and they will decide if it is defective or not to replace and normally require a receipt (this was a gift), but may be able to make an exception. Fun toy, but not a Bath toy

My daughter picked this doll out to play with in the bath tub, and after thoroughly reading the directions and finding nothing saying it could not go under water, I went ahead and let her play with the doll in the bathtub. After about a week, the doll no longer makes any sounds. My girls still enjoy playing with Ariel in the bathtub, but it is very disappointing that a product that advertised to be a water toy cannot be submerged. Absolutely ridiculous!
