    I actually bought the Alana doll for my cousin's older sister and it was *loved* on Christmas by both parties (of course) so it soon became apparent that I would have to buy one for the younger to prevent WWIII (of course.) Luckily her birthday was close so that was easily remedied. While the Doll took forever to get back into stock after Christmas, [...]I was patient, and while the doll is late, I am sure I will be forgiven. That being said, the doll I received was the *spring* style with sundress and espadrille shoes. Not a problem again (it is spring) but...the doll is for a 4-5 year old. How exactly is she going to manage these shoes that you *actually* have to wind and tie? I understand the box says 6+ but I honestly can't even see her older sister managing and she IS 6+. I'm just going to buy another pair of shoes because the doll itself is too wonderful, but honestly. lol

    PLEASE READ WHOLE THING!It is a beautiful doll, though I think American Girl Dolls are much better quality. This doll can certainly substitute for American Girl Dolls. An affordable price is provided with this doll, and it is great value for it's price. It is not easy to clean it up because you should not apply water on it's skin,hair, and whole doll; not impossible either. This doll needs lots of care, especially it hair. It needs special care in order for it to last long. I recommend this doll to older kids at youngest 7. It makes a great, affordable, present or just a toy itself!

        We ordered on line. While delivery met our expectations, the product was bad. Our grand daughter took off the top for the journety doll and its arm came off in her hand. She was,of course, very upset. She did it in front of us so we clearly saw that she did not use extra force, it just came off. This should have been seen in any product inspection. The doll is not cheap so we expect more.

              This product is a gift for my daughter (almost 9). We recieved this about a week after ordering, Thanksgiving was in between order and recieve.
              After fighting to get this doll, from not in stock to the free outfit not in stock so cancelled order 2 times (1st was doll not in stock, 2nd was different doll was in but free outfit was omitted b/c not in stock) long, bad story. But in the end, finally got her with choice 2 of free outfit. I opened the box to test the arms since other posters have put on here that the arms can come off easily. Arms a-ok. Different (but cuter) outfit than what was ordered, (ordered grey sweater w/ scarf, got pink puffy coat with grey leggings) so no complaints. The problem is is that the eyelashes do not match. The Left side lashes are nice and long and curved. The Right side lashes are straight and short! Even if I were to "trim" the other side to match, it would not look good. They eyes are the best feature on the Jouney Girl dolls... Kinda dissappointed, and being slightly ocd for some things, it would always bug me... Other than that, the doll is gorgeous!

                    I bought it as a Christmas gift and ordered it online, so I was taking a chance on how it looked, etc. - I was very pleasantly surprised with what a pretty doll it was and the quality. If I had to say there was a drawback, it would be that you need to be careful when buying clothes elsewhere, because not all clothes for 18" dolls fit "all" 18" dolls. Otherwise, very pleased and I plan to buy another one this year for a niece.

                        Meredith was on my 10 year old's Christmas list. I was skepitcal to buy Her. However, She was to cute not to get. She seems to be made quite well. I also like the price of the 18 inch doll, compared to AG dolls. We had excellent customer service as well at our local TRUs. Meredith for us though came with a pink vest on. I am very pleased that TRU is carrying affordable dolls like the journey dolls. I also forgot to add that I love she has eyelashes.
