Wanted to get an American Girl doll for my daughter but didn't have $100 + dollars for one. I searched the Internet for an affordable alternative and came across this Toys R Us doll. I had to go to 3 stores to find her but I'm glad I did. Well made doll and I love the fact that she resembles my daughter more than any other doll she has (brown skin, thick curly hair). I/we can't wait to start buying her outfits!

The Taryn girl was in same store so my god daughter and daughter wanted one because she was sooo nice and told them how Taryn travels and is super kool like them LOL. I end up buying Journey Girls clothes, furniture, EVERYTHING LOL. They love it and we update with new stuff when we see it.

The doll, purchased as a birthday gift for my grand niece, is of excellent quality. Although the doll did not come in the outfit I ordered, it's still the same doll. Obviously the outfit the doll we received was wearing was a substitute (we got Taryn, the multitalented performer wearing formal attire and a white coat).

Taryn is actually a lovely doll. Both styles. The one you see here is described as the newest style. She is the older version. This doll shown is not wearing the green cropped top as described. The new version of Taryn also has a different hair style,that is, with two bunches of hair that look so cute. However, do not order this doll if you actually want the newest version. The picture I clicked on to give this review is not the picture up here. The website people do not know what they are doing. Sorry. The people in the warehouse, ALWAYS send out the old version of Taryn, the one with the gray top. When I called to complain, I saw that they added a newer description of what the doll is actually wearing and was assured that this would not happen again. But it did. Three times. You'd think I'd learn.
