It wasn't specified in the description, but you really will need to know how too read while playing this game. I was disappointed, we bought this for our almost 5yr old daughter, thinking it was something completely different. I figured you would have furniture, decorate your home, and play lil mini games. HOWEVER, she really cant play as she really cannot read yet. you dont decorate your home, and essentially the game reminds me alot of DOGZ. As you must help your parents out, remember to eat, use the bathroom ETC. I should've done my homework on this game.

Comments about 505 Games 1012194 My First Dollhouse for Nintendo DS:

My daughter is 5 and got this as a gift for her ds. She loves dolls and playing house so she was excited to play this but it was TERRIBLE! She tried to play it often and it always crashes.
I also have a couple of issues with the story play and the language used in it. No curses or anything but it is not a great choice for American kids because they use "Mum" and other British lingo such as airing cupboard and "doing the washing up" in place of more American words and terms like doing the dishes or Mommy. My daughter didn't get some of the terminology which was understandable considering she isn't British, an oversight from the software programmers I guess. Secondly the game centers around Emily (the young girl in the game) doing everything around the house for two very lazy parents, not great at encouraging family role models. Lastly the game software is terrible and once you progress in the game to a certain point, it will tell you the day is over and then it crashes repeatedly so you cannot save anymore progress in the game. You have to delete the game and start over again which is frustrating to a young child and really lazy of the programmers considering they should have thought to finish the game they started!

Comments about 505 Games 1012194 My First Dollhouse for Nintendo DS:

Very easy game..Price is right cuz there isn't a whole lot of variety in the game..Basically you are given instructions on what needs to be done.."mum" always needs help looking for something in the kitchen or the living room..There is a lot of reading involved...However if your child is at the first to second grade level in reading they should do fine with it..Its got some mini games like brushing their teeth, jumping on the couch or bed, stringing a neckelace and so on..Yes the mini games sound easy and most are for the most part but as mentioned you NEED to be able to read to get enjoyment out of this game..READING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GAME..If you have a child whom you want to get a game that they can play independently then this game isn't for you..
