My son absolutely loved loved loved this game. . . for a few minutes. After that it was nothing short of a disappointment. Not even the best alkaline batteries could help this toy. Initially the vibration was strong in propelling the tiny ball players down the field yet by 3rd down there was a fumble on the play and all players hit the sidelines. Game over. We knew something was wrong when the steady buzz of the vibration turned into a loud rattle. Very disappointing for my child. For a game to be around for this long (I remember it from my childhood) you would think it would be a whirlwind of endless fun. Not so. But I must commend Toys R Us for refunding my purchase with no hassle. That's about the only happiness gained from this purchase. Merry Christmas!

After opening this toy, my husband & son played for about 10 minutes then it just stopped working. We changed out the newly placed batteries with others, but it was still unsuccessful. A big disappointment for not only my son but his father, who remembers playing this type of game as a boy himself.

This was the toy for the 70's and early 80's.It was on my brother and I Christmas list in 1978.We got the super bowl edition Cowboys and Steelers.We had all 28 teams.I Was 6 at the time and until I was 13 my brother ,my Cousin and I would stay up on the weekends play till the sun came up.I still have 6 teams from when I was 13.I just find a set 3 years ago and plan on ordering all 32 teams.We use to cut the names out of the telephone books and clue them on back of the men.I think that was a inner city thing.BEST TO EVER.

This game either doesn't work or is extrememly complicated. My 8 year old son really wanted this for Christmas because he loves football, but he was very disappointed. Once turned on, the players just seem to run into each other. He could not figure out how to play it and lost interest very quickly.
