Product Description

Dr. Browns bottle features a patented two-piece internal vent system that works unlike any other bottle design. The vent system fully vents our bottle for vacuum-free feeding, which we call positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system, bypassing the breast milk or formula, to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breast milk or formula which minimizes oxidation and helps maintain essential nutrients like vitamins c, a and e. Babies feed more comfortably because the vent system allows them to nurse without fighting the negative effects of a vacuum or the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles. This helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping, and gas. The breast milk or formula flows freely, without nipple collapse.

I have a total of four of these 8oz glass bottles for our baby, and this is the only bottle and size we used! After 1mo of breast-feeding, it took a few fussy feedings to get used to drinking from a bottle, but I think this would have happened with any bottle. It helped to use the preemie nipple even though he was full-term. (It comes with Lvl 1.) Now, he goes back and forth between breast and bottle just fine.
At 4mo old, we still use the preemie nipple. He drinks slower, but has less regurg so I figure the time spent eating works out about the same!
I prefer storing milk in glass rather than plastic, but glass is heavier than plastic. If they ever leak (rarely), I just unscrew it and rescrew it!
The cleaning hasn't bothered me. It comes with a thin brush for cleaning the valve parts.
I don't know if the valve system really works, but my baby gains weight just fine. I feel like gas intake also depends on how the baby drinks, if they've been crying, etc.
Assembled, this bottle is taller than most (8.75in), so you may need a taller bottle cooler for travel. It comes with 2 travel discs to decease leaking, but they should still stay upright. I decided to buy the Dr. Brown screw-on travel caps for travel.
These bottles will screw directly onto my Medela pump, too.

We used to love Dr. Brawn bottles until we tried their 8oz baby glass bottles. We had 3 of the 7oz Dr.Brawn glass bottles (which were GREAT!) but when our son started day care we needed to have more. When we went in the store we were pleasantly surprised to see that they actually had 8oz glass bottles now. The glass looked a lot cheaper than the glass used in the 7oz Dr.Brawn bottles but we decided to try them. To our disappointment all new bottles we bought broke while warming in a Dr. Brawn bottle warmer. Our older 7oz Dr. Brawn glass bottles are still in use and don't have a crack. We use them in exactly the same way as the 8oz bottles. We called the company and they sent us a new pair of 8 oz bottles. We followed all the instructions, even tested with an empty bottle not been in the fridge and a room temperature water and they BROKE again, exactly at the same spot at the bottom as the other once. It was very frustrting. We put the bottle in the bottle warmer and then when we had to pool it out there was no milk in the bottle and no bottom of the bottle. The company also said that they have not heard any other complains about the issue with their new glass bottles breaking very easy. This was very surprising and disappointing. It felt like the company didn't care about their customer's feedback. I hope more people decide to contact them so hopefully they will do something to improve the quality of their new 8oz glass bottles .It is such a good idea and they already had a successful glass bottle (the 7oz one, although it would have been better to be 8oz). If you don't want to waste precious baby milk, think twice before you buy the current 8oz Dr.Braw bottles.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr Brown's BPA Free 8 Ounce Glass Bottles 2 Pack:

I saw these bottles at a local BRU and had to buy them after I had my son in 2010. I bought them beause my dishwasher was making my plastic ones leak and was sick of replacing them but the glass was great. I gave my glass bottles to a friend after my son wasn't on the bottle and shes still using them but for #2 now.

I recommend these bottles to everyone and will be getting glass second time around for myself too!

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr Brown's BPA Free 8 Ounce Glass Bottles 2 Pack:

Love using Dr. Browns bottles! They made a huge difference in my son's comfort while bottle feeding. He was swallowing too much air with other bottles which caused him uncomfortable gas. These bottles however were a relief to both our son as well as his parents. The only negative is that they are harder to clean than other bottles.

We opted for glass bottles to try and avoid chemicals in plastic. These bottles are great. Easy to use, easy to clean, portable, and you still get Dr. Brown's technology without plastic bottles! We love them! I would recommend getting bottle sleeves for extra protection.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr Brown's BPA Free 8 Ounce Glass Bottles 2 Pack:

I have used this product with my two babies and both have done very well with it. I love that these bottles fit the pump connecters for the Medela Pump in Style Advanced pump, so I can pump directly into them. If you do pump, I would recommend getting the lids that screw on for storage and travel. I also love that they are glass bottles so I don't need to worry about chemicals getting into the baby's milk. They seem to be durable as I have accidentally dropped them or hit them against the counter and I haven't had them break often. I have broken two, maybe three over the past three years. I do try to use the silocone sleeves with them if I am traveling - I have one sleeve for each size bottle (4 and 8 oz bottles). Also, you can fill the bottles to about 1.5 oz more than the bottle size without an issue (9.5 for 8 oz or 5.5 for 4 oz).

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr Brown's BPA Free 8 Ounce Glass Bottles 2 Pack:

We wanted a non-plastic option to feed our baby, and this is one of only a few on the market. We have been happy with the Dr. Brown's bottles, and we are now using the same bottles with a second child. Of 12 bottles, only one has broken (four years ago, so I don't remember how), and the others are in great shape. We have even dropped a bottle from counter height onto hardwood flooring without it breaking. I should say that we never warmed out bottles (both kids drink straight from the refrigerator), so we cannot comment on the breakage issue that another reviewer had.

Our only complaint is the time involved in cleaning the parts that require the little brush. It's not a huge issue, but I do wish there was a way around it.

We really like the Dr. Brown's system; it's the only thing we've used with our 3-month-old twins. We have both glass and plastic bottles, but I feel more comfortable warming up the glass bottles as plastic, even BPA-free, can be unstable when heated. I use the plastic ones for pumping, storage, and travel. Our twins have had good weight gain and minimal spit-up issues.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr Brown's BPA Free 8 Ounce Glass Bottles 2 Pack:

Dr brown is one of the best makers of baby bottles. Glass is always better for keeping the milk fresher and no worries about the heat drawing out plastic from the bottle and into your baby's milk. The airflow apparatus inside works wonders for keeping gas out of your baby, but if mixing with cereal is a regular feeding habit, then this may be a problem. Father of 3, still a fan of dr brown, but had to switch to another type.
