Description

Dr. Browns Glass Bottle 2 pack features a patented two-piece internal vent system that works unlike any other bottle design. The vent system fully vents our bottle for vacuum-free feeding, which we call positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system, bypassing the breastmilk or formula, to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breastmilk or formula which minimizes oxidation and helps maintain essential nutrients like vitamins C, A and E. Babies feed more comfortably because the vent system allows them to nurse without fighting the negative effects of a vacuum or the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles. This helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping, and gas. The breastmilk or formula flows freely, without nipple collapse. Contains two 4oz glass bottles.

My husband, Nanny & I love this bottle. The best part is the Dr. Brown's premature size nipple. Our lactation consultant said the "p" nipples are the closest thing to the flow when he breast feeds. We used "p" for the 1st 6months (if babies who breastfeed are given a larger size/flow nipple, they may refuse mom and prefer the larger flow nipple (because it is easier for them).
I don't have to worry about plastic leaching chemicals. They are super hardy & the size is appropriate (I prefer to fill only to 4oz and give my son a mini break so it is similar to my breastfeeding pace).

This is a good product if you want glass bottles. I had originally wanted glass bottles due to concerns about using plastic. We purchased a few glass bottles and a few plastic bottles. We found we only use the plastic Dr. Brown's bottles now. The glass bottles are heavier, which makes them harder to use with my Medela pump due to a heavier object dangling while pumping. The glass bottles get condensation in them when we use them to heat up BM with our Dr. Brown's bottle warmer or if I used them to pump directly into and then put them in the fridge. The glass also got much hotter than the plastic after heating them in the bottle warmer to the point we would have to let the glass cool even though the milk inside was the right temperature. The glass bottles are good if you want glass bottles though and we did not have any problems with leaking, etc.

I wanted glass bottles and I definitely prefer Dr. Browns to Born Free. I only have had problems with the Dr. Browns bottles leaking if I have filled them beyond the max fill line.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's Glass Bottles 2-Pack - 4 oz:

These bottles really helped with my daughter's colic. After using regualr bottles and switching to these we saw huge improvements in her crying and gas. I also liked that they are glass as I try to use glass only. The only disadvantage to using glass is that they are prone to cracking and I have already gone through about 3. Thumbs down to Dr. Brown's customer service for not replacing glass bottles. They also don;t leak like other bottles, just don't screw them to tight. Lastly, glass elimates the need for a bottle warmer as glass heats up so quickly in a pan of water and Choose the safer route for your baby and trust there completely BPA free!

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's Glass Bottles 2-Pack - 4 oz:

I breast fed, but started breaking formula into the routine at 6 mo.s and then at 9 mo.s we went to 100% formula. A - I never used a bottle warmer. I'm one of those folks that just popped the glass bottle with water into the micro for 15-20 seconds and then mixed the formula in. For us this worked fine and usually just got the formula to room temp, not higher (we use fridge/filtered water). Glass is prone to breakge when exp. rapid temp change. The reason the bottoms craked when people use the bottle warmers is that the heating element is at the bottom and does deliver a lot of heat very rapidly. I recommend against the bottle warmer.
We never had a breakage problem resulting from regular use or the baby and then toddler using glass bottles. I broke two wasking them in my cast iron sink...but if you drop any galss, polcelin, or ceramic into a cast iron sink it will break, so that's on me...butterfingers.

Heavy, hardy, and seriously not that bad to clean at all (we don't even own a dishwasher) I highly recommed these bottles!

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's Glass Bottles 2-Pack - 4 oz:

Love these bottles! I much prefer glass to plastic and my baby took these with no problem. I haven't noticed any gas issues with these more or less than our other bottles (Medela). There are a few components but this 2-pack comes with a special tiny brush to clean them, which is great. A large drawback is that they do sometimes leak, even with the flat cover that goes under the nipple for travel. It can also take longer to warm up refrigerated milk under hot water.

While our child has issues with gas, there bottles do nothing to help. In fact, it makes the gas issue worse. Maybe it is due to the positive pressure they claim to have. It may cause the milk to flow too fast even with the slowest nipples. [$] for 2 glass bottles.... Really? also, you need to clean 4-5 different pieces, and need a special pipe cleaning brush. Pain in the butt. And if you don't use the brown insert, it leaks. It also leaks into the cover with all the pieces in place. The baby industry is all about ripping people off. We need to wake up.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's Glass Bottles 2-Pack - 4 oz:

I have been using Dr Browns glass bottles exclusively since birth for my now 9 month old daughter. Overall, I have been very pleased with these bottles. I chose glass to avoid the uncertaintly of chemicals in the plastic bottles. They are definately a lot heavier than plastic bottles, but I think the weight is not a big deal unless you want your child to feed him/herself. Unfortunately, I have begun to buy the plastic bottles as I have had the bottoms of three bottles break clean off while heating them in the bottle warmer. I have been meaning to call the company. I do use water from the fridge filtration system to make bottles. It is cold and the bottles clearly warm that sudden changes in temperature can cause breakage. STill, I don't really consider the bottle warmer to caus a sudden change in temperature. I put the bottle in when the warmer is cold, so it should be more of a gradual temperature increase. Be cautious.

As a busy new mom I have no time to write reviews, so I am only writing reviews for the products I really recommend! My "colicky" son tried sooo many bottles. We started with Tommee Tippee b/c they were so cute but caused HORRIBLE gas. We also tried Born Free & the new Similac bottles. This was the ONLY bottle that worked for him. FYI - they are not that hard to clean! I can clean 4 bottles by hand in 5-10 minutes. The only extra part is the vent system. They are also dishwasher safe. I don't think any bottle is perfect but these were the best we tried - enough so that we just stocked up on the 7 ounce size!

I ordered this online (BabiesRus.com). The bottle is good, and I like the glass. However, BabiesRus really needs to improve their service...... They processed the order very slowly and shipped out the product very late. It's still wasting my time although I already used 2-day shipping provide by SupperRunner.

I had been using these bottles with my daughter since she was born. After beginning to use the Dr. Brown's bottle warmer two of the bottles had the bottoms break off completely. Customer service did send me two new plastic bottles.

The next week I found two more had hairline cracks on the sides. When I called again I was told that they do not guarantee the glass.

I was shocked. How can they make a product that obviously has flaws and not guarantee it? What if the bottles had broken while feeding my seven week old?

                        Be careful!
