This toy is cute, classic, and a nice thought. However, the spring would not hold up to our 4-year-old. She received this as a Santa gift and the spring popped the next day. I would've had to really hover and keep reminding her of winding instructions to keep this from happening. Also, when we tried the soldier out on our hard floor I wasn't blown away by his speed. This might be a good adult knick knack, or for a kid maybe eight years or older, but it was a big disappointment for us.

I didn't know what to expect when I received this toy, but I was pleasantly surprised! It's robust, and stays upright when it rolls along. This is really cool, especially on wood floors - it doesn't roll on carpet though. My 21 month old son loves it!
