My 8yr. old son loves the minimates. They can be taken apart, but I advise my son to keep them put together since we have a younger child in the house. The figures are tiny, hence the name, but when taken apart they are even tinier and parts can very easily be misplaced.
The Ghostbuster minimates with the proton packs, their proton pack cords broke easily upon play.

I collect these minimates so I don't open them out of the package. Although they do have good detail and accesories. If you have a kid who likes ghostbusters, these are great toys.
