My husband laid our completely healthy 5 1/2 month old daughter down to sleep the other night on her back and with all the SIDS safeguards. About 2 hours later the alarm went off. My husband went into the room and she had rolled over on her belly and was face down. He grabbed her and she did not respond right away. He had to stimulate her and say her name several times before she opened her eyes. He was just about to do the CPR procedures. She was completely fine afterword. Scares me to think about what would have happened if we didn't have the monitor! I know people complain about the false alarms but I would rather have that then have something happen to my daughter.

I'm a first time mom and I thought this would give me some comfort putting my infant in her crib at night. My daughter is a belly sleeper, not a back sleeper and I wanted something "extra" helping me pay attention to her at night. I tested this out during the day time and thought it would be fine and was excited for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately I was woken up by the alarm going of for false alarms I adjusted the sensitivity of the monitor and it still didn't help. This monitor will pick up vibrations from your mobile, a fan in the room, etc. So it didn't give me the peace I expected. And like I said it kept making me panic that something was wrong with her when she was just fine. I would not recommend this product. Instead I would tell you to buy a nice audio monitor (video if you need to see your baby as they sleep) but the movement monitor isn't worth the money!

Comments about Angelcare Movement Monitor - AC300:

I bought this model after becoming completely overwhelmed with the more expensive Angelcare movement sensor monitors. I wanted a movement monitor for tummy naps when my baby is too gassy to be happy on his back, so I wasn't looking for anything fancy. The higher-end models of this type monitor were keeping me up with all kinds of beeps and clicks to alert me about all kinds of information that I'm not personally interested in. After an already-sleep-deprived night of fretting about how to turn the dang thing off without waking the whole house when I take baby out of his crib to feed him, I returned it and bought this instead. It's got one simple button to turn on when I want it and off when I don't. It detects motion as well as the fancier model did, and it came with the sensitivity pre adjusted in a way that's caused us no false alarms.
There's only one key piece of info you really need about this. It does not come with a portable parent unit. The 'alarm' stays next to the crib rather than with you, so if you're worried about not hearing it you can just set it up next to your regular audio monitor to amplify the sound.

Comments about Angelcare Movement Monitor - AC300:

I am a mommy of 3, my newest is a preemie. She is 7 months old now and spent the first 4 months of her life in the NICU. She came home on oxygen and an apnea monitor. Last month she was able to come off her oxygen and apnea monitor but I was still nervous about her sleeping at night so I bought this monitor. I love it!! We have had it for about 2 weeks now and the alarm went off last night. I ran to her room and stimulated her by rubbing her tummy. She exhaled a really deep breath like she had been holding her breath in her sleep. I am so thankful for this machine! I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth buying, but it totally was!

Comments about Angelcare Movement Monitor - AC300:

It gives you such a peace of mind. I found out about it after I registered but after learning about it, I would tell parents it should be the first thing you buy for your baby. It took us a couple tries to get the sensitivity correct so that it wouldn't false alarm but after that it hasn't false alarmed since. I know it's working because frequently I pick baby up and forget to turn it off and within seconds it's giving me the first warning beep.

It gives me such a peace of mind knowing that if it doesn't detect movement it will awake me.

Love this product! Couldn't sleep at night without it. We have only had a few false alarms because the sensor pad shifted to the side when I changed the crib sheets and baby was sleeping on the opposite side.

Comments about Angelcare Movement Monitor - AC300:

I am thrilled with this. I was overly obsessed with SIDS. It was to the point I no longer slept. I'd just watch my son breathe. It wasn't safe considering I was caring for an infant so sleep deprived. I got this monitor and have slept like a rock ever since. You can see a tiny green light flash for every breath. I loved waking up and instead of running over to check, I'd just watch the light and then fall asleep. He is now 6 months and we still use it. It can be the difference between life and death. He is now in his own room. I feared I wouldn't hear anything from across the house so I bought a cheap sound alarm and put it directly next to the angelcare monitor. Now I have no worries. We've had one false alarm and it's the scariest sound but one false alarm in 6 months, I'll take that anyway. It was because when I changed the sheets I think I pushed it to the side. Follow directions!! Couldn't imagine anyone not having this!!

Someone recommended I get this and I am so glad I did. Since then, I have bought this for every expectant mom I come into close contact with. I would feel terrible if something happened to their little one and they could have had this to alert them. After all, every body needs sleep and you can't see or hear your baby breathing while you sleep.

I have used this version of the monitor, and two others, we know use the newer more high tech monitors but this is great for my boys, we use this in our room for our youngest son, I have used it 3yrs. Both boys. Both my sons where born with asthma, as a first time mom, no one would listen. If I hadn't had this monitor I wouldn't have my beautiful 3yr old. He still sleeps with the monitor, telling me, room temp and such.. Our youngest son having been born with respitory distress. This was a lifesave literally. I have bouth 5 of these, 2 higher models and 3 of this exact, adn given it to friends and family.. I don't care if it false alarms once in a blue moon, I'd rather be tired, than crying over a lost angel..

This product has made the move to the crib so much easier for us! Our second daughter was born at 33 weeks. Before her birth, our goal was to put her in the crib soon after bringing her home. Of course, after her spending a few weeks in special care, we had a harder time putting her in her own room! We had already purchased a dual video monitor to use for both her and her older sister, but seeing her wasn't enough. I wanted to make sure she had no apnea/chocking occurrences, so I wanted the Angle Care monitor. Being able to purchase the 'movement monitor only' has been the answer to our problems! I now can make sure she continues breathing and I can watch her at the same time!!

Met our expectations. We use this in our co-sleeper and when we are away from home. It is exactly what we were looking for, a portable version of the full monitor system which we also have. Only wish it had a night light like the full system monitor does. I like that it is battery operated so you don't have to look for a plug when you are away from home.
