My 2 y/o loves this after a bumpy start

We bought this for our daughters 2nd b-day. She is able to use this in beginner mode. The Tag can be used with Tag Jr. books which is an added bonus. The Tag ...Read complete review

We bought this for our daughters 2nd b-day. She is able to use this in beginner mode. The Tag can be used with Tag Jr. books which is an added bonus. The Tag asks questions about the books and has games as well the kids can play when they read them. The ONLY complaint I have at this time is the fact that we could not get this to work on my laptop which operates on Windows 7. I spent over 8 hours installing, uninstalling, reinstalling Leapfrog Connect, contacting customer service, following all instructions that were given to me. Finally i just said forget it and set up tag on our older XP laptop. If we didn't have that it would have been shipped back. This is a known issue and they are "working on it". That is the only reason I gave tag 4 stars instead of 5.

I bought this reading system to help my daughter read better and it reads it to her, even without the book. I might buy the phonics books but since I purchased the Leapfrog Leappad explorer tablet, I probably will sink my money into the games and ebooks for that product.

We've had this pen for 3 years (green for my son). He has played with it for many, many, many hours. As a first grade teacher, I love the educational value. The books cover MANY literacy skills that I am teaching in school and that my son will be learning as he gets older. He loves to have it in the car or in the bedroom during quiet time. It has lasted well with battery replacements over time. He is careful with his toys, so it is still in great shape. We've been able to upgrade to new books as he has grown. Important note--instead of getting the toddler version, get this version, which can also hold the board books. This pen holds WAY more books and will give you more flexibility as your child grows than the toddler version does. We have had some trouble getting books over time--we've been most successful ordering from the LeapFrog website. We are currently purchasing a second pen for little sister because we have found this toy to be so much fun and so educational at the same time.

My daughter loves this tag, she used tag jr too.
This pen is great for her hand & she trying to read other stuff too with this tag! when other stuff not reading then she throws pen! we cont. trying to tell her that this reads books only but she not listening & very angry, we have to take away this tag for that day, next day she again happy with reading books by tag!
I wish this tag can read anything whatever she wants!

I bought this Leap Frog system, in hopes to help my 4 yr old to read and have fun doing so. Sadly I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO WORK. I tried everything, new batteries and several reconnects,nothing would work. Maybe it doesn't work with Windows7 idk, nevertheless I hate it. This was a total waste of money.

My 4 year old just had a birthday and I did not know what I was going to get her because she has enough toys, then I came across "TAG." This is an amazing learning system for a child as young as 2 years. When I first purchased Tag my 4 year old did not want to put it down. The next day she reconized a few words from other books that are not Leapfrog.

I thought it was going to be too advance for my 2 year olds, but she also loves it. I am so glad that the pen works for junior tag books because I don't think she would have been as interested in it without the pen. It makes her feel older I guess.

The price for this learning system is also reasonable and it's helping my daughters read and comprehend stories.

Santa brought this Tag reader to our 3 yr. old and so far she loves it. It seems to be pretty durable as she has been a little rough with it at times. We decided to get this one instead of the TAG Jr. b/c the Jr. books work with with this one...at least the ones we have bought so far do. I think this was a great purchase for our 3yr old as it keeps her interest and I would recommend it.
