This is a lovely reproduction of the original. I grew up with the original wood version and just loved it. My Mom still has it in the grandkids toy closet and it is very worn from lots of love. The new one I purchased for my 3 year old for Christmas. It plays a lovely tune and looks almost exactly like the original. Of course it's not made of wood. But the plastic may be an honest improvement. Also, some of the decorations are stickers which appear to maybe come off easily. Not sure, but I think the original was all painted on. That being said, it's as close to the original as you could get! And I'm really looking forward to playing with it with my daughter and helping her to learn to tell time too. Fischer-Price was right on bringing this clock back and doing such a nice job of it.

My wife and I are Retro enthusiasts, so when we found out that Fisher-Price had a rebooted line of their most memorable toys we decided to buy most of them for our two toddler sons. The Musical clock, we gave as a Christmas present for our youngest. He came to love it and it was a way for him to sleep easier during naps and night time.During mid April, I was laying my son down for a nap and went through the whole routine of winding it up for him, when something inside made a rather loud popping noise. I tried winding it again and nothing. Now, Not only did I have a child that had gotten the mess scared out of him because of the loud sound but I had a toy that was no longer able to perform. I had trouble trying to lay him down and had to fall back on less popular music toys to finally get him to sleep. The next few days were rough on us as our son had become pretty dependent on this musical clock. I finally went on a popular online auction site and found the original 1964 Fisher-Price Musical Tick Tock Clock in perfect working order. I bought it for half the price of its more modern day predecessor. It's a lot more sturdy and has a ticking sound to resemble a clock while the music is playing. I'll have to say, My son enjoys this version a lot more. It's sad that a 51 yr old toy can out live the more modern version. If you buy the Fisher-Price Musical clock, your child will enjoy it, but if you want it to last...you might not allow them to actually use it for what it was intended for. (Constant use and playability)

About Me Grandparent
Grandson loved a clock in a cartoon he watched with grandma. She calls me about it and 3 min later I've found what she wanted thinking he'll never find one. I show up 2 hours later and she & he are so happy, plus it's a new toy!

A disgrace to the original.

This product is a disgrace to the original. I understand plastic is better but prefer the wood. The worst part was the sound of the music. It was very tinny and cartoon sounding. I bought them for the music as it was a favorite of my kids when they were small. Very disappointing ans I plan on returning them.

DOES NOT TICK
I have the original from when my kids were little. The ticking sound is what makes it different from any other musical toy and it also soothes the baby to sleep. It just plays music with no ticking. I sent it back, what is the point?
My son loves this clock

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children, Stay At Home Parent
We love this clock. I had one when I was little. My baby is 9 months and it is his favorite toy. When I wind it up he starts kicking his feet and gets a big smile on his face. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that it isn't made that well. The one I had when I was little was wood and very sturdy. My son dropped this one on the tile once and it cracked at the bottom. It is also top heavy because it's plastic and won't stand on the carpet very well which was never an issue with the old version.

THIS CLOCK WAS PURCHASED AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY 4YEAR OLD GRANDSON WHO IS EAGERED TO TELL TIME. AS A KID, I HAD FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ALSO HAD THIS PRODUCT. I LOVE THE FACT, THE KIDS CAN EASILY POSITION THE CLOCK HANDS & IT'S PORTABLE HANDLE.
I would buy this product again.
