The New Safari Touch Steering line is part of the unique Smart Trike 4-in-1 tricycle designed for babies from 10 months and grows with the child!

Stage 1: At 10 months baby safely uses foot rest and has high-back support.
Stage 2: At 18 months the seat converts while parents push and control the trike. Baby enjoys the ride while developing confidence, balance and motor skills.
Stage 3: At 24 months it becomes a training trike - kids learn to pedal.

My mom bought this for my daughter, being that she loves to be outdoors. It was fairly easy to put together although the directions aren't very clear to explain things. The seat/belt was where I got a little caught up on the directions but all-in-all it only took me 30 minutes to put together. It IS a little tricky to stear, as one reviewer explained, but you DO get the hang of it. Although I didn't have any trouble with things falling out of the back basket, it was a bit annoying to hear everything rattle around so much. I had a gatorade bottle, keys, a big SLR camera and the dogs leash in the basket and everything stayed put. Perhaps if they made the basket rubbery, everything wouldn't make so much noise rattleing around. However, with that aside, it didn't seem to bother my daughter AT ALL! She had such a wonderful time riding in it so that in itself was well worth getting this bike. Plus it will grow with her so that also makes it worth the money. The color is very nice, the seat is nicely padded and my daughter loves playing with the toy phone that comes attached. You won't be disappointed. I normally do not write reviews but being a first time mom and always reading reviews for good products, I thought my thoughts might help someone in return.

This product looks and feels expensive. Easy to put together and nice materials and my 1 year old loved it! HOWEVER, we cannot get the front wheels to stop spinning so when she sticks her feet out they hit her. This trike does have pegs your child is suppose to keep their fit on but that is not going to happen when they see the wheels spinning. ALSO the biggest problem is:
the seat is not height adjustable. So if you have a taller child at a younger age (one that cannot actually pedal) their feet will drag the ground.

I am not sure why SMART TRIKE would not make an adjustable height seat??!!!

I abosolutely loved this trike but overall my child is to tall and I would only recommen it for kids who can pedal themselves, but be careful on the turns

My daughter is 10 months old, and small for her age, so the harness is great! The phone isn't the greatest toy, and I could honestly deal without, but other than that I have no complaints! It fits great in the back of the car so its perfect for bringing it to the park and pushing her around.

I bought this for my niece for her first birthday. The kid is obsessed with the smart trike. It's probably one of her favorite things. Best of all her parent's love it too because they can entice her away from the playground other other activities to get back into the trike vs. trying to get her back into the stroller (which seems to be a constant fight). She just views it as fun instead of transportation. It's been such a hit with her, we just recently purchased a second smart trike to keep at my house or her grandparents house when she comes to visit. I know she will get even more use out of it when it transitions with her as she grows. I would highly recommend it to my friends with kids or for other aunts/uncles/grandparents looking to get gift for a kid.

We got this as a gift for our daughters first birthday and I will say we didn't use it much from one to two. Once she hit too she was tall enough to put her feet on the peddles(35in). Now she is 2.5 and LOVE it! we have taken off the back and she can do it all on her own now. We have to be careful around turns cuz if she is going to fast it will start to tilt

i got this for my 9 month old and had her in it right away. she loves it more than being in her stroller at ths point. its very very secure for the younger babies/kids, the rail around the seat is very secure and safe for her. the visor blocks out a good amount of sun and the steering is super easy.
