Hand crank generators supply power to the cars and control the speed. The faster you crank, the faster the cars go. Unfold the carry case to reveal a fun, bi-level race course. Decorate the track with signs, traffic light bridge, checkered flags, scoreboard and bleachers full of fans. Perfect for travel. When it's time to go just store the cars, cranks and accessories inside to "fold n' go"! Hand storage "pit" holds the components inside the case. Includes cardboard scenery cutouts with large screen monitor- scoreboard, racing fans and racing landscape. Comes with 2 spare tires an 2 sets of pick up brushes.

My son wanted a criss-cross track that cost over $150, called for extensive set-up, had mixed reviews for quality, and required a bunch of batteries that would burn up in the first 20 minutes of play. Not willing to toss my money out the window on that one, this track was my choice. No batteries, no plugs, and it folds over on itself for easy storage. Fifty-something or sixty dollars was doable and it had great reviews.However, my 5-year-old doesn't like cranking it. It takes some strength to get it going, so it might be more appropriate for a 6-year-old. There are 2 tracks, side-by-side, 2 cranks, and 2 cars so 2 players can race each other. Each car has what looks like a metallic ribbon on the bottom that must maintain contact with the metal on the track to run. That ribbon can get wrinkled and frayed, so take care of it.Overall, great product. It just wasn't what my son wanted.
