This doll has a beautiful MEDIUM brown complexion that is, contrary to other posters, not as dark as the "Nina" doll. I have two daughters and one has the Claudia doll and the other has the Nina doll. My daughter's are African-American and light in complexion and they love the dolls features, coloring and easy to style hair. Great first time dolls for girls , in my opinion, five and over. They seem sturdy. Clothes can be a bit of a challenge, but not a barrier the enjoyment of the dolls themselves.

My daughter got this doll as a gift Christmas morning. Although she is cute, she is not the same as pictured online. Her skin is a lot darker in person.

My 5 year old received this as a gift. She's a beautiful medium-skinned doll - lovely hair, eyes and body sculpt. However:

1. the legs and arms fall off, because the manufacturer used cups that are smaller than the holes in the arm/leg molds.
2. the soccer shirt is poorly serged and had holes in the seams.
3. the black sweater was already unraveling in the box.
3. the glasses are very easily bent because there is no "glass" in them, and do not stay on the doll.
4. the plaid skirt is so short the dolls underwear shows in the back, and it is very tight and difficult for a child to put on.

The Gotz Sarah mold is beautiful. But the compromises made to produce her at this price for the 3+ age group make her worthless as a child's toy.

Be prepared to deal with tears when her arm or leg falls off. Our local TRU store said many of these dolls had been returned with broken limbs. I was very surprised to see them back on the shelves this Christmas.

The doll seems like she is exceptional quality. However, her skin is much darker than pictured, and she did not arrive in the zippered case, but a regular cardboard box that was smashed on the bottom. I'll be exchanging her in the store.

Made by the German company, Gotz for FAO Schwarz, this all-vinyl doll is of exceptional quality. She has the body of a little girl with one leg slightly bent at the knee. The hair is closely rooted onto a brown scalp. The well-made school girl outfit including the extra soccer outfit are an added plus.

Her cafe au lait (light caramel brown) complexion enables little girls or collctors of a variety of ethnicities to identify with Claudia. She can be biracial, African American/black, Hispanic, or even a tan-complexioned Caucasian.

At this price, you will receive an artist-quality doll at a mere fraction of the cost that will blend in well with any collection. Collectors and/or little ones will love Claudia.

im a preteen and i love this doll at first i thought i wouldent get much play with it but lol i love this doll. Her hair is beautiful and easy to brush. Much cheaper and prettier than american girl great product.

Lovely doll with a beautiful young girl's face, dark complexion, contemporary hair style that is easy to brush and nice outfits. Although the skirt is hard to pull off and on. The outfits for AG dolls fit except for waist size. She has a hard body. Oh, and she can pose with an attitude. I love it!

I purchased Claudia for my 6 year old for Christmas. She is so cute and comes with a school uniform, and a soccer uniform, which is perfect for my little soccer player. Her hair looks super soft and easy to brush, and she has real eyelashes. I also purchased Tess for my 4 year old. Both dolls are a great value and so much cuter than any other doll in the 18in size. She also comes in a really nice red FAO case, which saves you having to buy one on your own. I can't wait for my girls to enjoy these dolls on Christmas day.
