Baby's head and neck are supported and kept upright by thick padding located at the sides and around the head rather than distributed throughout the back. I purchased this insert for my baby's car seat. I loved how soft, comfortable and supportive it was. We got this when my son was 1 week old and he is now 9 weeks old. In this short amount of time, the piece that supports the head and the body piece have slid apart from each other and the velcro is not keeping the two pieces in place. This has left exposed velcro right behind my son's head. I found a large sore on the back of his head (extremely red, hair rubbed off, and almost bleeding) and at first didn't know where it came from. Then when placing him in his car seat one day, I realized his soft little baby skin was rubbing against this rough velcro while driving. I'm sure the wiggling and bouncing of the moving car rubbed like sandpaper against his head. I totally tried to restick the velcro together, but it shifted out of place again within minutes.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My new born baby looks so snug and comfortable when I placed her on this body cushion support as the car seat was far too big for her atm. Highly recommended for new borns! I love the plush velour material.

This body support is exactly what I expected it to be and support my 3 month old perfectly in the bicycle trailer and stroller. Only pay attention that the material will warm the baby additionally meaning it is only good up to 90 F.

I received this at my baby shower. I didn't not register for this because I didn't know it existed. From the time that my son was going home from the hospistal I have used this. He is a month now and I don't put him anywhere without the body support. I love that it's machine washable. Plus the versatility of being to switch it to either side is great. I recommend this to everyone I know that is having a baby or has a baby.
