I had my son 3 weeks ago, and he needed to spend sometime in the nicu.
He has was having issues taking his meds every three hours he wohkd sput it out. The only time he would take his meds was with his pacifier. I saw this product and new it was exactly what he needed. It has worked great! I will continue using this for as long as I can! I love it!!

I had a really hard time finding this type of product. I actually went into babies r us twice. the first time I was told they didn't carry a pacifier that gives medicine. when u came back to the store i found on a shelf.

pros: looks like a pacifier, small and handy, does the job for at least a few times

cons: part where babys mouth goes is very hard unlike his normal pacifier, hard to tell when medication dispenser is completely attached and not capable of leaking, hard to open to clean, hard to clean hard pacifier part without a tiny brush

suggestions: make pacifier soft so it's soft like a normal pacifier, make medicine reservoir s little bigger, make sure it's obvious when not fully sealed so meds don't leak out

We bought this for our 4 month old son after fighting to give him antibiotics and Tylenol while he was sick with an ear infection. We went from not being able to get him to take medicine to willingly taking and swallowing the medicine. We haven't had any problems with it leaking or usage issues.

I am raising my grandson and he is 9 months and is starting to teeth, this pacifier has been the perfect way to give him Motrin when he hurts. I puts the Motrin and just a little juice, and he takes it no problem. Plus he likes that it's a pacifier he can chew on as well.

Comments about Safety 1st Med Dispenser Pacifier:

The idea is awesome, but if you are using to give small doses of medication don't bother. The hole is small and in the center so all of the medication does not go through. It would be great if it were a funnel shaped hole to direct the medicine to the nipple end.

I loved the idea of putting meds in the pacifier since my daughter tends to spit out the Tylenol when we use the dispenser. We found the nipple part of the pacifier to be made of very hard plastic, and it was big. My daughter is 6 months and struggled with it. I may look for another kind to see if that works better.

My son, who is not quite 2, is not the easiest child to give.medicine too. So when I saw this I thought it would be a great idea as he has not given up his pacifier yet. Well, I was wrong! To put the medicine in you must take the back off and this is not easy. Once I finally got the medicine in I gave it to my son who was not thrilled as he said "too hard!" He was right the pacifier part that goes in his mouth is hard and he didn't like it. Needless to say it was a bust and didn't work.
