Saved so much money never purchasing diapers. Still using the same ones after 17 months and they look new. I started with 26 for one child and buying more to accomodate my second child. Low maintenance and definitely worth the money saved and environmental considerations.

We like our Bum Geniuses. We actually use a mix of these, FuzziBunz and prefolds with Thirsties wraps. Each have a specific use in our house. The BGs seem to be more absorbant and have a wider coverage. Add in the extra insert they come with and it typically makes it through the night on our newborn. The drawback to them is that they don't allow as much range of leg motion as the Fuzzibunz or wraps. Also, they are very soft, though not as soft as Fuzzibunz.
As for the white color, so far we haven't had anything soak through the entire diaper so there's not been a question of awkwark external staining.
I would definitely recommend having a set of these in your arsenal.

I bought the diapers for my second baby and I am so sorry I didn't with my first. They are so good from so many points of view: great for the baby (never had a diaper rash with these, super soft and with a great design), awesome money saver ( even though it seems like a big investment at first, it's truly worth it), and good for the environment!
I also purchased the sparyer that you install at the side of your toilet (also a great product) which makes cleaning the diapers super easy.

The only thing I thought it was unconvenient is that you have to line dry the cover of the diaper - I was having second thoughts when it came to that, but they do dry very fast, in a few hours...so it's not that bad.

Never thought I's say this but it made diaper changing a pleasure for me and the baby!

I did some research and found these to be the best reviewed cloth diapers. I registered for them and started using them on my little one when she was 2 weeks old. This is the best decision we made so far as parents. Since we registered for them, we have already saved so much money; they are far less prone to leakage(I used disposables on a recent trip and I couldn't wait to get home to my diapers); and I would be lying if I said it doesn't make me feel good that we aren't adding to landfills (disposables are the 3rd highest waste disposed of in landfills).

After buying 3 of the name brand reusable diapers, I just ordered 6 more BumGenius 4.0 in a variety of colors. They are the best because of the soft fleece lining that touches the babies skin; this has really made a difference in comparison to the others that use fireside fleece (its more of a furry kind of fleece) that sometimes gives her a diaper rash and always leaves an imprint on her skin. I also like the size adjustment better, I don't have to worry about the correct sizing around her leg (which I have forgotten to expand in the other reusable diapers and ended up leaving an imprint around her leg). I have never had any leaking problems and prefer them over disposable which have sometimes "blown out" on my daughter. I recommend getting the sprayer that attaches to your toilet, also, I think from now on I will just buy the colored diapers as opposed to white because they are easier to find in the wash when you have to take them out to let the inserts dry on high heat.

I love these diapers! Use the thicker inserts that come with them and they won't leak as long as you change them before they get too full. I love that you can adjust the fit with the snaps. The fastening snaps can be a bit more work than the velcro (aplix / hook and loop) fasteners which are also available, but I hear the snaps last longer. But if your baby wails through diaper time, every extra second is agonizing, so in that case I would suggest the velcro fasteners instead (they still have snaps for adjusting the fit).
You can also adjust the length (and therefore the fit) of the larger inserts with the attached snaps.
The diaper is bulky compared to disposables, but less bulk than some other cloth diapers out there.
The material that is against baby's skin is very soft and seems to be very comfortable. I haven't had them long so I can't say whether or not they are durable. I have already stained them though. But that's because I only wash them in hot (no cold rinse first) because it's just too many quarters for me (yes, I am a cloth diapering apartment dweller with a communal laundry room!)

I am only giving these 4 stars because we've only used them for a week, but so far I'm really pleased. The snaps are not difficult to use like I worried, and they have held poo and pee in nicely. Even though you don't have to, we've been using the bum genius diaper sprayer to spray out the infant poop, and it's really not gross (unless you miss and spray it on yourself :) The poo looks like it will stain, but the color came right out when dried in the sun. My daughter seems to be comfortable in them. I'm really happy with the purchase.

I LOVE these diapers!! First off, I'm not a hippie. I'm a normal, part time working, first time mom. My interest was first peaked when a couple of high school friends wrote on facebook about their cloth diapering. I started asking them some questions and decided to give it a try. Why not?! It's better for the environment and the pocket book! If you can use them for multiple kids too?.......even more savings!I did use disposables when my daughter was a newborn (lots given as gifts), as these were a little big for the first couple of weeks. And I have used disposables when we were out of town more than a couple of days. Comparison wise......these cloth diapers are hands down better! NO BLOWOUTS!!! I don't know about you, but I would rather spray out diapers than try to get stains out of her cute little outfits. Using these I don't have to worry about being at the mall etc and having a blowout require an entire outfit change. I have a wet bag i just stick the dirty/wet diapers in (you'd have to do the same thing with dirty outfits). I'm seriously considering bringing all my cloth diapers and detergent with me on our next trip because of all the blowouts and ruined outfits from our last trip with disposables. AND she got a horrible diaper rash on the trip with disposables. We use hemp babies diaper doublers with these. Great absorption without the bulk! [@]. I like charlie's soap powder to wash them in- available through [...]. And, if you use cloth I recommend using cloth wipes too. You can throw it all in the bin together. I use prince lionheart wipes and warmer. And I make my own wipes solution with warm water and california baby lavender wash. They smell wonderful!! Seriously, these are a wonderful investment!!! And easy for hubbies and babysitters ;)
