We use cloth diapers daily. I have tried at least 10 different brands/styles and keep coming back to these. If you have a leaking problem in Bum Genius diapers there are only a few reasons and none of them have to do with the product. 1) you need to prep your diapers to make them more absorbent (all diapers need this the first time) 2) you did not fit it properly to the baby or 3) the soap you are using is putting a film on the diapers. These diapers work great with Rockin' Green soap. I wish I had only BG in my collection. I love the Albert Einstein ones for my son! Velcro is great for those unfamiliar with CD.

We use these daily, and also at night (2 inserts) with our 9 month old, and have used them since he was 6 wks. Our son got diaper rash with disposables, and it was gone within 2 days of using cloth (and we tried disposables several other times, with the same results. Then invested in BGs and Flips). We probably have close to 40 BG one-size diapers b/w what we have at home, daycare, in diaper bags, etc (we bought all on sale, and some previously used). We usually wash every other day just to keep plenty in the rotation and to keep them from getting too smelly. FYI- do not use diaper rash cream (my mother put it on him accidentally when we first switched)- it will stain and it also clogs the fibers (which can cause leaks).

Near the beginning, we would have occasional leaks at night (when he would put himself on his belly with his bottom higher), but we made some adjustments (after contacting the manufacturer- Cotton Babies) and have not had a leak since. We also use the flips some during the day and love them (but they are not as fun to wash out with poop...2 pieces if it gets on cover).

To the person who commented about velcro marks on the baby's back...I assume you mean from the laundry tabs on the inside. We have not seen this at all. The tabs are soft, and they usually don't touch baby much anyway since it is a roomy fit on the upper back part of the diaper.

To the person with the elastic breaking after little use- call the manufacturer. Their customer service is great and the diapers have a 1 yr warranty anyway.

These can also be used as a swim diaper (remove the insert). We use our older ones for this.

I would also recommend the BG detergent and the diaper sprayer (we did not have the sprayer until he started with some solids, but use it daily now!).

We also have a Fuzzi Bunz one size, but do not like it. For one, the snaps are ridiculous and babies don't stay still long enough to get those fastened. Also, the opening for the insert is smaller and it makes the diaper hard to stuff (especially for my husband, but even for my small hands). The inside material is also different- very soft but seems to be hotter (= more sweat) on my son.

The product seemed like an easy solution to cloth diapers, boy was I wrong. I used them on my 1 week old infant and the elastic on one of the leg holes broke after only 2 uses!

We add two additional small liners at night for our heavy wetter and have not had one leak since. The standard one long liner is great for the day. A large initial investment pays off over time that you are not having to buy ultra expensive disposables.

I had read/heard good things about these and wanted to give them a try. However, they are my least favorite of the 5 brands of cloth diapers I've tried. The velcro tabs leave marks on my baby's back, and the diapers leak more quickly than others. I wish I had put my money toward a different diaper.

I love my OS Bumgenius diapers! They are wonderful. I am so glad my son is finally able to fit into his OS diapers and we no longer have to use disposables. Like all diapers, they take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, they are so easy to use.

After trying many kinds of diapers, I got 4 of these. They are BULLET PROOF!! I have a heavy wetter that can wear this all night and wake up dry!! They dont get any better. So soft, and very well made. The velcro is strong, and elastic is soft and doesnt leave red marks on tender legs. My baby has chunky legs, but a slender torso. These diapers fit great all around!!
I havent had them long enough to find anything I didnt like.

When we found that my daughter was allergic to disposables, we bought some pre-folds and covers. Luckily someone suggested these for overnight use. Initially we only bought 2. The bumgenius diapers were so much easier than the pre-folds, my husband insisted he would only use this diaper. They NEVER leaked and are just as easy as disposables.
