        We bought this for my 15 mo old to teach her shapes. The shell does not stay on at all. This would make losing shapes very easy when trying to store. My husband is exchanging it today for something that has a lid that stays on.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

          It has lots of shapes. I would not recommend this for a child around at least 11-12 months. The shell comes off too easily, and so my baby cannot put shapes in it. Perhaps a little older child would know to keep the shell on, however it does come off very easily.
