I had been looking for an exersaucer with a little bit of everything for under $100. Some don't jump, some skimp on the toys, some just got poor reviews. I was ready to settle for a less exciting one when I saw this one had come out. My apartment is tiny and this is smaller than the jumperoos. I was super worried I was starting a bit late since my baby is 18 weeks and over 25 inches long. However, the lowest setting is still high for him. I put a pillow under his feet and he is just getting used to using some new muscles. He lasted in it for 30 minutes on the first go. The bounce on this thing is much better than older exersaucers too. Also, the toy selection is great. Here's what they do: the arch toy apples light up if baby pulls the bird or the firefly (the firefly lights up too). There are colorful bees on the arch that spin and can be slid up and down. There is a birds nest with eggs, the serves a rattle. The apple with the worm also serves as a rattle type toy. The orange and blue dragonfly is a nice toy for teething, although my little guy can't get at it just yet. The sunflower toy has a mirror and a bunny and carrot that go up and down respectively when pushed. It plays music. The frog toy has a spinner for a belly and if you push his head, the arms move and it makes noises. There is also a felt crinkle pond plant that baby can touch. So I say go for it. It has everything you need for baby!!

I gave this exersaucer 3 stars for "average or ordinary". I had one 6 years ago with my older child and I liked its simplicity. The toys weren't electronic, but they were fun and simple. The new exersaucers use way too many batteries (12 for this one) for the electronic toys that don't do much but make buzzing noise or short tunes. They are big bulky chunks of plastic. Anyhow after much research I got this one. The 3-1 wasn't useful as a play mat nor stable in the stage 3. The ABC-123 was UGLY. The Baby Einsteins also had too many big bulky plastic electronic toys and not enough interactive ones. So I decided on this one. Here is what I think.
Pros: It's smaller then others. It bounces well. It is adorably cute.
Cons: Two bulky electronic toys that don't do much other then buzz and play very short tunes. The arc above the exersaucer doesn't serve much purpose either - the apples light up, the glow worm bum glows (but who can see it at day light). The way I see it the arc just takes precious room and uses two holes that could be better used for switch-a-roos.
Specs: 2 holes for switch-a-roos if you are using the arc (the apple and dragon fly can be taken out), or 4 holes for switch-a-roos if you take the arc out. Frogy electronic toy doesn't do much - the kid can push his head down and his arms will flap. The second electronic toy has a mouse and a carrot and works as see-saw, when mouse is up, the carrot is down and vice versa. The apple is a rattle. The dragon fly is supposed to be a chewy but it's not flexible enough and doesn't droop enough for my baby (4 months) to reach it. Maybe when he's older. My favorite part is the green froggy seat with spongey back. It makes me feel better to think that baby's back is protected. I do have to put a blanket around his waste so he's more comfortable and sits upright, but in a few months that won't be necessary. I put two pillows underneat his feet because he's too small.
I think it was a good choice for us, but looking back I can't help but wonder if ABC-123 would have been better choice (does it have real songs rather then short sounds? does it have more toys? does it have more room for switch-a-roos?). It was not too difficult to assemble. You'll need a philips screwdriver and 30 minutes of your time. It does not fold! It is portable only in a sense that you can put it in the trunk in one piece. The electronic toys are attached with the two clips (unlike other brands that use velcro). They are very stable. This exersaucer has one slot that can be used for snacks (cheerios?) but no cup holder. Since it needs a toy that's easier to chew/teeth on, I got a fish switch-a-roo. The feet at the bottom make it more stable, and we're using them now until he's old enough to do serious bouncing. The bounce is good, almost equal to jumparoos. The electronic toys have off-soft-loud settings and the soft setting is lound enough for baby but not lound enough to annoy a parent. I guess my main problem with the exersaucer is that I find toys bulky, boring and not interactive enough. I would have liked toys that crinkle, droop, are tied to the exersaucer (my old one had a phone that was tied and the butterfly that was chewable). One extra toy we got in this exersaucer was a rattle that looks like a bird nest with eggs inside. It's cute and fun and I can see it becoming a favorite on this toy.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo ExerSaucer Jump & Learn - Frog:

Purchased this for my 6 month old in order to get him more active. IT worked! At first he was not too happy, but each day the amount of time he spent in the saucer increased. Each day I would face him towards a different station - so that he would think it was a new toy. He jumps around and his legs have gotten so much stronger. I agree that there should be more light up toys and more sounds. I do add some of my own toys to it which keep him entertained. My son also could not reach the base, (he is about 27inches long) so we just put a pillow underneath for now and know that in a few months he should be able to reach. Overall good buy - keeps him entertained for at least 20-30 minutes, allows him to build motor skills, and gives me some time to get some things done.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo ExerSaucer Jump & Learn - Frog:

My son has always been in the lower percentile in weight and height (around 25%). He hardly got any use out of this. He couldn't touch the bottom comfortably (balls of feet) until he was like 11 months old (around 17-18 lbs and 29"), and by then he was crawling everywhere, getting ready to walk, and didn't want to be confined to a jumper. The toys are all cute and fun, but it's useless when your baby is dangling by their crotch in this. It would have been much better had there been a lower setting for smaller babies.

I received this exersaucer as a gift for my 5 month old daughter. The saucer was wonderful until my daughter got big enough to bounce. Because it is made of all plastic, it is so loud when she bounces. It is great fun and entertainment for my daughter, but I limit the use of it because of the noise. I would look into a better made saucer like the Baby Einstein.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo ExerSaucer Jump & Learn - Frog:

My 6 month old is in the 98th percentile for height and his feet did not hit the bottom, but he is skinny and probably couldn't weigh it down (18 lbs, about 29"). He does not sit up by himself and the seat is really shallow so he would flop back and forth. Not an issue with our fisher price jumperoo that he is on the 2nd setting on.

It does not play any music consistently, so he would only jump if the frog played the music part. He is a musical baby. He got bored of it really fast except he loved chewing on the dragonfly so I plan to look for something like that for him. Plan to try FP frog bouncer instead so he can spin around.

Oh, it is also VERY loud when baby does jump whereas with the jumperoo there is no sound. I think it startled him and he'd stop jumping at times because of that too. The jumperoo toys he plays with a lot more too.

It is very cute, but I don't see how there are 55 activities. He just chewed on the apple or the dragonfly or sucked on the mirror. The mirror laughs when you open it which I found weird personally. The apples that light up on the arch, he didn't even notice. The firefly tail barely lit up but he didn't even play with those all but one time in 1 month.

There is a tray that I'd put a toy of his in, like his toy phone or football and he'd play with that more.

I don't recommend for tall babies or for babies needing lots of stimulation.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo ExerSaucer Jump & Learn - Frog:

This is the third ExerSaucer like toy I've bought for my son. The first two I returned because he started crying the minute I put him in. He loves to stand and bounce, which would leave me exhausted. He loves this ExerSaucer!! It's really bouncy, which he loves, and he can turn the seat around by himself, which is something he couldn't do with the other ones we tried. The toy selection could be better, but he can reach them easily and seems to like them. It would be nice if there was space to add your own toys.

He's almost 7 months, and average height, and his feet don't reach the bottom. I put a pillow under his feet, and that seems to work well. I'm so grateful that I found this, because my son loves it. I do wish it was portable so I could take it with me.

I purchased this product because I have a 5 1/2 month old and I wanted something fun for him to play with (he also has a bouncy swing that he LOVES, So I figured I couldnt go wrong with this bouncy thing either). I did all the research about these excersaucers on Babies R Us site and found this one had really high ratings as well as a back that is supportive because he doesnt sit up by himself yet (the others don't have the high-back). We got it, put it together and then stuck him in it to play and he loved it! As far as the height goes, We have it on the lowest setting and his feet don't even touch the base and he is of normal height for his age, so I feel like he will get alot of use out of this. There are also a ton of little toys so when he swivels his little seat around, he has alot of stimulating things to play with. I am very pleased with this excersaucer and I feel like the toys look to be pretty good quality too. I was pretty impressed...

He plays with everything on there and doesn't seem to get bored at all. He turns around to touch all the different toys. My husband said it was annoying to put together but it seems like a lot of the baby stuff is. Anyway its worth it.
