Like most LIV dolls of the original design, this edition of Hayden is well-constructed with extremely well-articulated elbows, knees and ankles that offers a variety of posing options well beyond that of most other fashion dolls currently on the market. I would've given it five stars, except for (as an earlier reviewer noted) there are no shoes, nor the mentioned "wrap" included. Her sunglasses are more of a light orangish-brown color, as compared to the light rose pink ones included with the "Making Waves" Alexis doll by the same manufacturer; and not quite as transparent or realistic-looking as the latter. Her pocketbook accessory is well-detailed, but does not open or store anything (it is just for show).

Also (and most significant to me), her hair was not as expected. In her promo picture, she is shown to have smooth, slightly wavy, dark honey-blonde hair with bright highlights and shine and a "flip" on the ends (that somewhat resembles the hair on Mattel's "Growing Up Skipper" 1975-77); but on the actual doll it is a lighter blonde with tighter curls in the back that more easily bunch up, frizz and tangle. Since the other editions of Hayden had lighter hair with small braids in front, that was the main reason I chose this "Making Waves" release; so in that respect it was slightly disappointing. The patterned swimsuit fabric colors, however, are a nice blend of rose, pink, mauve, yellow-orange and brown earth tones that goes well with Hayden's official "personality".

If I had known some of these details in advance, I might've chosen a different edition of Hayden (with a more complete clothing outfit and accessories) for my own collection. Overall, however, it's a good quality doll for children's play purposes and should hold up well.

I'm just getting back into collecting dolls and picked up this doll recently. I'm very impressed with the pose-sability. I think she's gorgeous and at the price a great deal. I plan on heavily customizing my Hayden. (new make-up, modding it to switch out the eyes since they fit 10 mm eyes). Most (not all) Barbie clothes will fit this doll, but the shoes will definitely not fit. I like that I can share clothes between brands, and also there are a lot of print out sewing patterns for that size online.

I would have given this 5 stars had it included shoes. Based on the photos I thought they would be included. Now I'm with a shoe-less doll, and the fashion packs currently available at Toys R Us don't include any shoes I like. A minor inconvenience all things considered.

Over all, this is a great doll. I only wish I knew about them sooner! I'll definitely buy more for myself and my niece in the future.
