Like other's had mentioned, it can be a bit tricky to assemble with the allen key, however, once you get the hang of it, the assembly moves quickly. It is sturdy and the color is beautiful.

It does leave finger prints or appears stained when you have items on it, but it easily cleans with a soft cloth.

Overall, I think the price is reasonable for a beautiful and useful piece of furniture my daughter will use for years to come.

Per my crib review the Brayden set was bought for our second child after we bought the Vickie set from Sorelle for our first. The Brayden series has a beautiful color to it and all the pieces match well. The pieces are packaged carefully and no parts were damaged even though our box looked like it was dropped off the back of the UPS truck. Assembly is a challenge, but you get used to it rather quickly (especially if you just assembled the matching dresser). Assembly time was 1 hour and 45 minutes for me (a mechanical engineer) but included time to replace one of the screw inserts that I blew out and reversing part "H" as it was labeled incorrectly before I could screw on the backer. I would STRONGLY recommend throwing away the allen wrench that comes with the hardware and buying or borrowing a t-handled, 4 mm allen wrench like the one I have pictured below. This will save you a ton of time. Also, when you think a screw or bolt is tight, STOP, and don't tighten it any more. The "wood" is of low quality and you will strip out the hole almost instantly. Overall, it's not high quality as our Vickie set from Sorelle but still a good piece for the price you pay.

Comments about Carters 1011192 Summer Infant Brayden Combo Dresser - Dark Cherry:

We had a terrible experience with this dresser and ended up returning it after having it half put together. The area you have to work with to put in the bolts were too small for any of our tools besides the cheap allen key that is included with the dresser. When I finally got to the steps that required a screwdriver for assembly, the holes in the wood were stripped and would not stay together.

I thought I paid $110.00 for shipment and assembly of dresser and crib. Upon delivery, I was told that the amount paid only included assembly of the crib. Usually when you pay for delivery the furniture assembly is included. Dresser took over 4 hours to assemble, poor quality product. Dresser also has a scratch on it.

While the assembly was difficult and took my mom, sister and me about 3.5 hours, that wasn't the worst of it. One of the drawer pieces came broken in the package, and one of the drawer knobs was stained a different color. After calling customer service and dealing with someone who wasn't very helpful, I finally convinced them to send the broken and wrong parts. Customer service was difficult to get ahold of as well as not very thorough in their communication. After calling a second time and working with someone else, I did receive the broken parts. Too much of a headache to deal with for the price of the dresser.

Bought the dresser to go along with my crib. Has very smooth rolling drawers and was easy to put together . Was a little nervous to see how many pieces it came in but went together smoothly very clearly marked. I think maybe a little overpriced for how much you do have to assemble but seems to be good quality furniture so far. Wish the drawers were just a touch deeper but still lots of room.

I love the way it looks but it was time consuming to put together. My husband got frustrated with putting the drawers together so I stepped in and completed the task which took me several tries and a lot of cursing to get the drawers lined up. Finally got it. After using the dresser for a couple months the flimsy drawer bottoms began falling out and I didn't even have much stuff in the drawers as the majority of my son's clothes were on hangers. My son is now 1 1/2 and I'm trying to figure out how to better support the drawer bottoms as his clothes are getting bigger which equal heavier. I expected better for the price we paid however the matching crib is great.

We purchased this dresser for our son & daughter-in-laws baby shower. It appears to be a nice piece of furniture but we were disappointed that you had to put it together. (This is the one they registered for but apparently we should have read the reviews on it and we would have known you had to assemble it).We purchased a different dresser about a year and a half ago for our daughter & son-in-law and it came put together. I feel that for the money spent, it should have been assembled. Other than that, the piece is very nice looking and seems sturdy.

If there were a rating below one star, I would have selected it. The assembly design for this piece of furniture will severely test your patience. Most of the construction is accomplished using two inch hex head bolts dropped through a narrow channel and tightened with an allen wrench. Sounds simple enough; the problem is there is only enough lateral space in the channel to turn the bolt about a quarter turn. The least these guys could have done was to include a ratchet wrench designed to fit the available space to avoid having to remove the allen wrench after each incremental turn. Each bolt takes 8-10 minutes to secure and that's conservative based on skill level. Advisory to moms: regardless of how nice this piece looks in the store, please don't subject your loved ones to this assembly.
