Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for Nintendo Wii U

Help Kirby through crazy clay worlds in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for Nintendo Wii U. Draw rainbow-colored clay ropes to move Kirby along. Tap Kirby to attack enemies, blast through obstacles and defeat bosses. Kirby can transform into a submarine, rocket and tank with your stylus. Send Kirby diving through underwater levels with his swim mask. You'll know when Kirby's power levels are too low when a bandage appears on his head. You and three friends can draw your ways through each level together, while always being able to easily drop in or out of the game. Make loops, plug up waterfalls and launch Kirby through each challenging level. When it's too hard, call in the Waddle Dee allies to carry Kirby to the goal. Other players can still search for all the stars and hidden collectibles, like character figurines and music bites. Building off of Kirby: Canvas Curse for the Nintendo DS, Rainbow Curse brings Kirby to a new, creative direction.

Product Description

Do you have the magic touch? Then guide Kirby as he sets off on grand adventures in a handsculpted clay world. Draw lines on the touch screen of the Wii U GamePad controller to create rainbowcolored clay ropes to move Kirby around freely, or tap him to attack enemies or blast through obstacles. Transformations include a submarine, rocket and tank. In underwater levels, Kirby dons a swim mask. If his power level gets too low, a clay bandage appears on his head.

  • Kirby comes to life in a world of clay, which creates a beautiful backdrop for Kirby's adventure.

  • You take control of Kirby with the stroke of a stylus and draw on the GamePad touch screen to guide Kirby through the world.

  • Use the GamePad to control Kirby's many transformations in unique new ways.

  • The intuitive drawing mechanic is a spiritual successor to Kirby: Canvas Curse for Nintendo DS that builds on the game play and takes it in a new direction.

Beautiful Kirby goodness has arrived once again. This installment of Kirby has one player creating multicolor clay doodles with the Wii u gamepad, which Kirby and the waddle dees can use to collect stars and chests while maneuvering the levels. Speaking of the levels, which are well designed and endearing, some of them get very difficult and 100% completion of Rainbow Curse should be celebrated by anyone. The multiplayer experience is great with a drop-in drop-out play style, and provide much needed support for Kirby in some of the later levels. My wife and I LOVE playing this game with friends, and at the end of the level it shows who collected more stars which adds an element of competition to the levels. I also really enjoy the different forms of Kirby added to the game. The tank form is especially fun. All said I wish they had done more than a few minor effects with the clay in game, but it doesn't detract from the experience. Great game, and playing with friends makes this a must have.

I am not really into touch screen games but I know this is Kirby's first and only Wii U game so I got curious to try it out for myself, the game was quite easy for the first 3 worlds straight, unfortunately the game got ridiculous from world 4 up to 6, I would use Waddle Dee to carry Kirby around and spear enemies while using the stylus to create rainbow platforms to get across large gaps and cliffs, some places are too dangerous for two players I had to play Kirby only and I hate Kirby's controls. This game could have been fine with me if not for stylus controls and if there was an option to choose Waddle Dee only. Also, amiibos are going to be wasted for only one day use on each amiibo figure. Some gamers think this game is not half bad but in my opinion should not be for everyone and the game is only good for those who are addicted to those mobile phone touch screen games, I am a fan of the classics and this was the worse regret I've ever made to buy a stupid Kirby spinoff, it's not a sequel, it's a spinoff which means this game does not follow the classics which are a whole lot better for casual players and not this. Product not recommended, game has no difficulty option and game becomes harder on it's own as you progress further levels, I must advise to rent before buying first, sorry Toys R Us but I need my money back. :(

This is a very easy game to learn for both children and adults. The instructions indicate that you will need a stylus, any type will work. If you do not have one then your finger works great too.

My 9yr old is an avid gamer, I have never really been able to play video games because the perspective changes mess with my hand eye co-ordination. My son chose this game and convinced me to try it out. He has enjoyed it a great deal and I can actually play this one! It's made for some fun mother/son time. Being able to use the stylus to play makes this game ideal for almost any age.

And one of its' strongest features is that you only use the stylus to control Kirby. It is great game for thinkers as well. A definite must-have for your collection. Buy it.
