I was very pleased with multiplayer and campaign was decent. Issues with campaign were it had no split screen which I understand many older Halo players enjoyed to come over to their friends' house and maybe play a game of multiplayer or co-op campaign. Different boss types besides the Warden would be nicer but, besides that the game is really neat!

First, I buy games for the SP campaign and co-op experience, not MP. Halo has always delivered in this aspect until now. Among the ramped-up graphics, sounds effects, and large scale story line are undeveloped characters, short plotline, limit MC interaction, repetitive bosses and gameplay. The SP campaign is short and there really isn't any immersion where you care about what is going to the point of emotional involvement. This really could have been game had it lived up to it's marketing campaign. I briefly tried out the MP experience, but I'm not interested in throwing myself at the same objective over and over with no tactics or team coordination. I lost interest quickly and decided that I'd never purchase a Halo game on release day at full price again. I can only guess why the SP was neglected, and my guess is that the eSport MP segment was deemed more lucrative, so the campaign was quietly relegated to the back row of the theater.

Personally Disappointed

By Ava7

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft 1001562 Halo 5 for Xbox One:

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the release of the XBOX and Halo to the public. A joyous day saturated in nostalgia. I've been playing Halo for 14 years, I love the story, the characters, the lore; 343 received a lot of undeserved flak for the series' previous installment (which I personally had no problem with) and as a result they sought to make in Halo 5 the best improvements and freshest evolution while staying true to the franchise. A tough line to walk, for sure. Well, I can say that they successed... concerning the combat, anyway. Yes, battle has smoothly evolved in a way that still feels Halo AND next-gen, great fun multiplayer gameplay and content being rolled out. But the story fell flat. Flatter than Bungie's rushed Halo 2. In many ways, this is 343's Halo 2: fantastic multiplayer but a flat, disappointing story. The graphics and environments in this game are beautiful and detailed, a fitting tribute to how far we've come in fifteen years. But the story... the story... ...the story felt like a bad fanfic written by a lonely, overdramatic preteen. I remember one of the developers mentioned prior to the game's release that this chapter of the Chief's saga was the darkest yet... In my humble opinion this installation was nowhere near as dark or even emotionally compromising as this installment's predecessor. After completing Halo 4 I felt Halo's lore would be safe in 343's hands, Halo 5 has shaken my faith. But the biggest issue I have with this game ties into me growing into an old fuddy-duddy: I've grown into a casual player because, you know, growing up! Living life. Having turned into a casual player I do not feel like this game was made with casual players in mind. The randomized REQ accusations system is a heartbreaker, A HEARTBREAKER! I have been playing this game fairly steadily over the past year since day 1 and I have YET TO UNLOCK ANY DMR CERTIFICATION FOR WARZONE (or nice armor)! Warzone has no sense of balance between casuals like me and everyone else who has devoted enough man-hours (or micro transactions) to unlock EVERYTHING! In closing, I could look over the fanfic plot and the new set of protagonists I really don't care about. (Seriously, all I was thinking during the Fireteam Osiris Missions was: "When will I get to play as Linda again?") I can overlook all that... ...but depriving me of my favorite weapon in the series and giving it to (all) my enemy(ies) to have their way with me from across the map, over, and over, and over, and over, and over again without giving me much of a chance to fight back... It hurts. It really does. Also, no splitscreen.

glitchy and too many updates

Comments about Microsoft 1001562 Halo 5 for Xbox One:

I would not advise people too buy this game as the content is very glitchy and rough as well as the problem that everyone seems to have with it on that even for the story mode you must update it, this would be fine and dandy it would actually update rather than updating over and over again.

The De-Evolution of Halo

By B2Garcia

Comments about Microsoft 1001562 Halo 5 for Xbox One:

I remember when Combat Evolved set the bar, Halo 3 Passed it and Halo 4 and Reach set new heights. But Halo 5 oh man, what a waste, the campaign which is what I play Halo for was not fun, it was grueling work mulling over a game taht I did not like. That team thing they never helped they where always in the way and the back and forth between the Cheif and Locke was a slowdown. I will wait for Halo 6 but I expect a better campaign and a more polished game

Not a good Halo game, 343 disappoints yet again.

Comments about Microsoft 1001562 Halo 5 for Xbox One:

No splitscreen, UI is awful, campaign has a cliffhanger that wasn't earned, all of the character development is in the books and expanded material, the game has microtransactions and launched without infection, grifball, assault, Oddball, etc. and to this day, Halo 5 still doesn't have Race, King of the Hill, 1-flag CTF, juggernaut, and more.

Terrible for a HALO game

By Kyle Stepback

Comments about Microsoft 1001562 Halo 5 for Xbox One:

Halo use to be an Iconic, amazing video game that was highly respected by everyone. Halo 5 is a disgrace to the Halo title. -No splitscreen -Tiny amount of content at launch -awful campaign and story, which is weird considering how amazing Halo 4's was -Multiplayer is way to focused on eSports, the Halo community doesn't care about eSports whatsoever. -The UI is awful, so many glitches, so "Sell all" button for REQs, often doesn't let me back out of lobbies when given the option -Ugliest armor in the franchise so far -The customization has gotten a major downgrade since Halo 3, Reach, and 4. you can no longer change your emblem backgrounds, indivisual shoulders, legs, or wrists.
