Product Description

The Dr. Brown's Specialty Feeding System® is a unique bottle/nipple/valve system designed specifically to assist in the management and treatment of complicated oral feeding issues. This bottle system will be beneficial for infants and bottle-fed children identified with severe to profound difficulty in efficiently expressing a fluid bolus during sucking. Infants with the following conditions - cleft lip/palate, oro-neuromotor dysfunctions, congenital heart disease, common or rare syndromic sequences and/or craniofacial anomalies will demonstrate strong outcomes while using the Dr. Brown's Specialty Feeding System®. The unidirectional flow valve known as the "Infant-Paced Feeding Valve®" is inserted into the silicone nipple at the nipple base and placed into the collar. Once full assembly of the Dr. Brown's Specialty Feeding System® is complete this system allows the infant to use their own tongue and jaw movements during sucking to adequately express and deliver a fluid bolus into their intra-oral space for safe and efficient swallowing. Medical professionals parents/caregivers are not required for guiding the infants feeding through continuous squeezing or manipulating of the bottle to dispense a specific amount of liquid into the infant's mouth. The use of the Infant-Paced Feeding Valve® eliminates the need to use oral facial manual interventions such as chin and cheek support known to facilitate an increase in intra-oral pressure. The infant's ability to independently express fluid from the nipple decreases the risk of developing oral feeding sensory defensiveness/intolerance or feeding refusal/aversion. The feeding becomes "infant-directed" and allows the infant to feed safely, efficiently and successfully. The Dr. Brown's Natural Flow® bottle is fully vented to create a positive-pressure flow for vacuum-free feeding.

Features

  • Includes two 4 Ounce bottles, 2 level 3 nipples, 2 level 4 nipples, 2 infant paced feeding valves, 1 cleaning brush
  • Designed specifically to assist in the management and treatment of complicated oral feeding issues
  • Accomplishes "Infant-Directed" feedings
  • Positive feeding experiences - efficient, successful and safe
  • Non-specialty feeding bottle design that includes the Infant-Paced Feeding Valve

I'm so in love with the new "OPTION BOTTLES" because it solved my leaky problem I was having as you can see from the pic below, my grandson and I always got so wet with formula dripping all over us, and then I spoke with Diane a wonderful lady and she worked with me til we came up with a solution and we did when she told me about the new "OPTION BOTTLES" and immediately the bottles NEVER leaked 1 time, and my refrigerator doesn't look like this picture anymore.
Thank you Diane for helping, and I'd recommend Dr. Browns "OPTION BOTTLES" to everyone, I LOVE THEM.

I bought the Options Bottle about a month ago. At first, I thought it was great. It was the only nipple my son would latch onto. Now, every single bottle leaks! I've tried labeling the ones that don't leak and thought maybe the ventilation system and nipple only truly fit the bottle it original came with. But with trying all the different combinations to prevent leaks all my bottles still leak. It's just a big mess and I'm so dissapointed because I do not have any other options in terms of my son latching onto a different brand nipple. And I have read all the solutions to a leaky bottle on the Dr.Brown's website and none of them worked! I'm truly disappointed!

Disappointed

By Tguzman12

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

I have loved Dr. Browns original bottles in the past so we decide to try these. Unfortunately after a month or so they started leaking. I have tried trouble shooting to try to see if we could fix the problem but nothing worked. We still use the original Dr. Brown's bottle's that we have had since our son was a newborn, he is now 10 months old, and have no problems These option bottles were a waste of money and I have about 6 of them.

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

I am so dissapointed of Dr. Brown's Wide-Neck bottles because leaks all over the place, I cannot send it to the day care because by the time my baby is going to be feed 2 oz of the bottle are gone due to the leak. I cannot storage milk on it due to the leak, while I am feeding my baby there is milk everywhere. I am not using this bottles never again, sorry for the comment but I feel so mad that this bottles are wasting my breastmilk. I try for 3 months but today I am done with this bottles.

I bought the old version a while ago and it works great. Therefore, I bought two more, but this time the store onley sold bottels of the new design. The bottles with the new design are faulty constructed and leaking much so that the baby gets compleatly soked.

Leaky bottles

By Jamieohalloran

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

o, I am confused on how to rate these bottles. I have worked in daycares for awhile now and always loved Dr. Brown bottles, never had a problem with them ever. When I became pregnant I knew right away I wanted the Dr. Brown bottles. We got the new Option bottles and figured the older ones work great so these I'm sure are just as amazing. I was wrong. The milk pours out of the bottle. We tried multiple different ways of putting the cap on just right, every time the bottle leaks. We tried them without the vent and you have to make sure the cover is on just right or it will still leak. I'm very disappointed in these bottles. We now use them without the vents and just pray we have the cover on right or we will get covered in formula. Just sad that the reason we bought these was for the vent and all the benefits of using the vent and now we just use it like any other bottle we could buy without a vent.

Amazing bottles!

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

Dr Brown bottles to the rescue! I used Dr Brown with my daughter 4 years ago and loved them! Had no complaints (other than all the pieces) and she was never fussy. I just gave birth to my son a month ago and just started introducing a bottle to him. This time around, I wanted to try Tommee Tippee bottles only because they're a lot easier to wash. Well, since I'm primarily just nursing my son; he had a really hard time latching on to Tommee Tippee and because of that he got lots of air bubbles which made him extremely fussy. I was really happy to find out that Dr. Brown came out with their new bottle Options! I ran to Target to buy one! I bought the Wide Neck because I figured it would be best for my son since he is a breastfed baby. Sure enough... He had no problem latching on and he is no longer fussy! This mom gives Dr. Brown Options two thumbs up!! I should of known since I had such great experience with these bottles 4 years ago that I should of stayed with them! I really recommend these bottles! I'm one happy mommy

Absolutely fantastic choice

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

I'm loving Dr Brown's bottles and wouldn't use any other bottle for my daughter. She doesn't get all fussy and the burping is less then usual like using other products, there is no spill from the bottle like the Avent bottle and my daughter is barely three weeks old with no mess to clean up from spitting up milk what so ever. What's not to love about Dr Brown's bottles when it's great for your child.

Leaks but I did complain to cs

By Viva

from Chicago, IL, United States

Comments about Dr. Browns Dr. Brown's 4 Ounce 2 Pack Standard Specialty Feeding Bottle System:

My mom bought the traditional bottles for my newborn son. We used dr browns traditional with our daughter and and liked them so we bought them again but this time noticed the bottle does leak and i cant tell from where. First i just thought my husband wasnt putting the bottle together correctly but then noticed its leaking! I just complained to the cs and they asked a bunch of questions and saud they will send out different sizes and to see which one i like so lets see. I read some of the 1 star reviews with mom's complaining about leakage on the 4oz traditional bottles so i am not the only one. I am hoping one if the ones they send do not leak!! I have milk everywhere and on my babys outfit and its annoying to have to change him!!!! I have to give 3 stars really 1 star for the leak but we do like dr browns and do far the cs has been good so 5 stars for that, so average that to 3 stars.
