This set is really great! We finally have gotten another cloud city set for the first time in YEARS. And even though people may have hoped it would've been bigger, I think Lego nailed what we did get.
The set itself has a lot of cool play features, the highlight being the process of freezing Han in carbonite. There is also a mini platform that is supposed to serve as an elevator to take people up to the chamber, plus, below the actual chamber is supposed to be where Han and the others are kept in the movie. There is a small retractable bad you can control with a knob.
The minifigs are also one of the best values of the set. You get Han Solo, who has a double sided face, one looking nervous, the other with his mouth and eyes closed as he is about to go into the freezing chamber. You get Boba Fett, who has an incredible amount of detail and design, plus it's a great way to get him, cause he's in a cheap set for once! The final figure is an ugnaught, who I'm not sure if we've gotten before in lego, but he is awesome! He has a new and unique head mold, plus great printing that really makes him extremely accurate to the ones in the movie. The carbonate piece is also very detailed. The molded outline of Han has the exact same printing as the figure, and again, great opportunity to get this in a cheaper set!
Overall, I think if you are a fan of the original trilogy, you will love this set! Even if your just a star wars or lego fan in general, you will love this set!

Cloud City is a highlight of Empire Strikes Back, and this set of the Carbon Freeze Chamber has some decent bits to it, but also misses the mark. The build itself is a good size and a good difficulty level, and the minifigures are good, but the set feels like it is missing a lot. The set feels like half of the set that it should be. A Bespin Leia should be in the set, as her and Han saying "I love you" and "I know" as Han is put into carbonite is integral to this scene. Lando would've been a good fit, of course. And adding Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker so they could duel would've been good, too. And really, the mechanism for putting Han Solo into carbonite is clunky and nothing like what a LEGO version of the contraption should be (Han is already in the carbonite, you just spin him around.) Still, I like the Ugnaught figure, and the set still looks like it comes from the scene, so it's got some value. I hope LEGO does more Bespin sets, because there are some great moments from that movie other than Hoth.

This was a great set with many features for the price. The day I got this I went to the new lego shop in Leicester Square and I was just going to browse but then i saw this set and I thought the price was amazing for the size of the set. I am a BIG Starwars fan and having Boba fett with such a detailed figure is a great. I would recommend this to anyone. :) Have a nice time building.

"I love you!" "I know."

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

Well, I've spent months begging LEGO to make more affordable Old Trilogy sets and they DO NOT disappoint. This set is beautiful to look at, easy to build and fun to play with. It has a lovely mechanism for switching between Carbonite Han and Normal Han. Although I've never cared for Boba Fett as a character, his minifigure is absolutely beautiful to look at: brilliant detail, lovely colours and excellent printing. The Ugnaught is a nice figure as well, with good printing. Han is as good as usual. Only negative is the lack of a Leia (she is the whole point of the scene!), a Chewy or a Darth Vader, but you can easily att these figures from other sets. Overall, whether you're a kid who loves Star Wars or a die-hard collector, buy this set! It's super affordable, fun to play with and great for display.

"He's no good to me dead!"

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

This was such a fun set to build! It only took about 40 minutes, but it was quite a challenging build comparatively, due to the many play features this set includes: the main mechanism for lowering and twirling Han Solo when he is put in carbonite, the lift on the right hand side, and the "jail cell" with the Murphy style bed on the left hand side. The finished set looks great, and manages to be both a good display piece, and a set you can play with. Pros: - Boba Fett is a fantastic minifigure! - Han Solo in carbonite looks great - The Ugnaught minifigure looks great, and as far as I know, this is the only set where you can get it - Really fun play features - Good display piece - Good value Cons: - Would have been better as a larger and more expensive set, with the full platform and including Princess Leia, Chewbacca with C-3PO on his back, Lando Calrissian, R2-D2, Vader etc. My husband noticed that Kylo Ren was on the box, which is confusing, but I see that Lego has explained this in a response to a review further down. Turns out all the new sets have the same band across the top and that's why Kylo Ren appears on an Empire Strikes Back set. One suggestion to Lego regarding the manual: Use the Lego figure you use to explain why building Lego using the numbered bags is a good idea (the guy looking very happy as he empties one bag at a time) to explain that the tiny plastic bag containing eight pieces (!) is actually only needed for the one single piece you attach to Boba Fett's helmet. You get three spare parts of this, which is very nice of Lego, but you also get four random bits that I have no idea what they're for. All in all, I would definitely recommend this set to Star Wars Lego fans!

Perfect Set for a Perfect Scene in the Movie!

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

As a fan of the original trilogy Star Wars movies, this set is a great adaptation of the Carbon-Freezing Chamber scene in Empire! I love the minifigures, and the amount of detail that is given to each of them (especially Boba). The chamber has great detail as well, especially the transparent orange tiles that give the set a glowing feel. The mechanisms of the set are superb, from the lifting elevator to the illusion mechanism of Han getting frozen in carbonite. All in all, I highly recommend!

Put Captain Solo into the carbonite

By DrSmith

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

I bought this after reading another review regarding the Boba Fett figure. This is great value, just to get him plus the Ugnaught which is a new figure I believe. Boba Fett comes with lots of spare antennas and blast shields for his helmet - a nice suprise! His outfit is excellent, much better than the figure I had some years back with the very first Slave 1. I also bought this to get a younger Han Solo figure to go with 75105 Millienium Falcon. He's pretty funny with his two-faced expression for suprise and 'being frozen'. The design of the twsting carbonite system is a bit hit-and-miss, but is interesting to build and fun to muck about with. I've no idea what the point of the underfloor draw-bridge is, but the lift is quite neat. Also, the abundance of orange light pieces is great for making other models or using along with Lego Architecture Studio - I wanted the stairs for that as well. Overall - great value just to get Boba Fett..

He's being put into Carbon Freeze.

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

We bought this as part of my son's upcoming birthday present, and decided to have a family build night a little early. So, my wife, son and I all worked together to build this. It was really fun learning all the ins and outs of the set. I think I personally like the little elevator into the chamber best. My son was very excited to play with Boba Fett and Han while we did most of the building. Side note: to small children, the main part of bag one may be seen as a space ship by small children and "crashed" during building of connecting pieces. The build was pretty straightforward, and good for builders of expert level like myself, as well as beginner level like my wife and son. I personally like this set as I had the original Slave I and getting the updated Boba Fett and Han in Carbonite was really exciting for my nostalgia factor. I had one concern about the set, which after building was resolved somewhat by the back of the box. I was unsure about the level on the opposite side of the chamber from the elevator. It appeared to have no purpose, but the box revealed it to be a table/bed of sorts for Han. Maybe the torture table from before the carbon freezing? I'm not sure, but I like it as a bed for Han to go to bed when it's time for my son to stop playing. Great, fun, set.

Great, but missing Leia

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

I mainly buy Lego for photos and I was excited to see a Bespin/Carbonite chamber set. It's a quick build and really cool mechanics including the chamber - I don't really use these features, but for a kid it should be a lot of fun. Would have loved to see a full 360degrees set, but that would have doubled the cost I'm sure (might buy another one anyway to piece together). And the only other thing I wish they had included, as many have mentioned, is a Bespin Leia minifig. Overall a good value though and it's been fun to shoot!

Good start, many incorrect details

By Unstoppable

Comments about LEGO Star Wars Carbon Freezing Chamber (75137):

My girlfriend and I love the original Star Wars trilogy, especially Empire. So when I saw this set, I knew it was a must buy because you get the Han Solo in carbonite without having to buy the Slave 1 set. The build is fast and easy, and the value is good with several minifigs. So I'm going to focus specifically on the critique here. The box: Featured prominently on the front of the box is the image of Kylo Ren. Let's see...he's not in that movie. Not even in the original trilogy. In fact not even in the first 6 movies. @Lego, this is a huge discrepancy and frankly, it should have been Vader if anyone in that spot. What were you thinking? The minifigs: Watch the original film and you'll see the key players in this scene missing are Leia most importantly, and Vader, and a few stormtroopers. Plus a few more ugnaughts and don't forget about C-3PO and R2. So Lego...why not give us the whole set to create the scene? This is a fail, and so I used the my Vader keychain to round it out, and an R2 and C-3PO I already had...but sadly no Leia. However I would have paid more to get the full character set included. The set itself: Again, watch the film and this set is so inaccurate you have to wonder what the designers were looking at. Most notably...the stairs go up from the left side...not down. Once I finished building, I wondered why this looked so bizarre, and that was it! To add a few more things...the lift that Luke later takes is round, not square, and Han doesn't tilt back into carbon freeze, he drops down, then is lifted by a crane. This could have been solved by another elevator type device instead of the technic pieces used to tilt him back (inaccurate) and turn him. Lastly...the bizarre Han storage area. What's really cool is that you put the Han minfig into the carbonite, lower it, turn it, then up comes Han in carbonite. So why the secondary storage for Han underneath the ugnaught? It makes no sense, and I would have preferred to have had those parts (part count) used elsewhere, or frankly the entire circular platform around the freezing chamber in tact instead. Needless to say, I heavily rebuilt this set and plan on doing more to it once I get some more pieces to complete my work. Note: The set comes with a small perforated bag of very tiny parts. You will only see one of the pieces used on Boba Fett's helmet. However, the parts are 2 sets of duplicates...all for attaching to Fett's helmet 1 at a time.
