I got a chance to try this travel system as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Overall this is a basic, no-frills system with a modern look at a very reasonable price. I have an 8.5 month old son, who is big and very mobile for his age. I was most excited to receive the infant car seat since it is supposed to go to 35lbs (my son is about 24lbs and very long). We had a Chicco Keyfit infant car seat, but have recently switched to convertible car seats when the Chicco got too heavy to carry with him in it. I miss being able to contain my son in an infant car seat and I was hoping that the Evenflo Embrace would give me an option to do so for a few more months. The Pros: • Very attractive with durable fabric, and gender neutral patterns and colors. I liked the look of the system a lot! • Both the car seat and the stroller are relatively light weight. The car seat is certainly more lightweight than the Chicco, which will make it great for extended use. • The car seat is larger than the average infant car seat, again making it good for extended use. • I love that the stroller comes with a tray for baby and a console for the parents. Most strollers don’t include this. Bonus points! I’m all about utility! • Very large storage area under the stroller seat. More bonus points! • The car seat clips onto the stroller without having to buy any adapters or extra parts. • Everything was very easy to put together, and the car seat was very easy to install. The Cons: • The biggest downside for me is the canopy on the stroller. It is tiny! (Note that when used with the car seat, the canopy of the stroller touches the canopy of the car seat to provide full shade) The canopy on our Baby Jogger City Mini GT is at least double the size. To me, the small size of the canopy makes the stroller completely unusable if you will be outside in the sun. • The car seat says that it goes to 35lbs, but my son just barely fits in it at 24lbs. He looked uncomfortable and scrunched up, and he couldn't wait to get out of it. He fits much better in our convertible car seats, and we will continue to use those. Do not buy this with the intention of using the car seat through 35lbs...I think you will be disappointed! • Minimal padding in both the stroller and car seat. • Stroller was challenging to fold up, especially one handed. (I am spoiled by our City Mini!) • I struggled to get the car seat clipped onto the stroller correctly...it would take a little practice. • The overall the products just don’t seems as durable as our Chicco Keyfit car seat and City Mini GT stroller (of course, those products also cost a great deal more). Overall, I like Evenflo products and I think this is a great travel system for the price. Minus the tiny canopy on the stroller, I would have been pleased with this system if I had received it when my son was younger/smaller and could have utilized the lightweight car seat.

**Please note that I I received this travel system as a gift from the weeSpring Parent Panel. While I think the intention with the design of this travel system was notable, I did not find it all that easy to use. I will admit that the frequency with which I need to use a travel system is rare, as I live in an urban environment and no longer own a car. I was hoping this system would make it easier to pop in and out of taxis, but I found this system bulky/heavy and I had some difficulty getting the car seat in and out of the stroller easily. However, the stroller does fold up slimly, so I was able to easily fit it in the trunk of a cab, even if the trunk had other things in it. I also did appreciate the size of the sun canopy and peekaboo window, as this is something I often find lacking on other travel strollers. I also appreciated the other included features (cup holders, cell phone storage) since many other stroller companies make you buy those as accessories. Finally, the storage basket underneath the stroller was large and reasonably accessible and could hold a decent amount of stuff, again, something that many travel strollers do not have. I do not feel the quality of the Evenflo Vive Travel System compares to my other strollers (the Bugaboo Cameleon3 and the Babylon Yoyo), but I recognize that they are at very different price points. Several aspects of the stroller feel cheaply made - the fabric padding on the seat, the plastic wheels, and the frame in general - I would be nervous having this stroller as my primary stroller as I heavily use mine since we walk everywhere. That being said, the fact that a budget stroller has a shock absorption system made me happy, as we live in a neighborhood with lots of cobblestones. Overall, I think there are some improvements to be made on this stroller to make it feel like a legitimate travel system. As is, I would not be comfortable taking this stroller with me on a big trip. My little one certainly didn't seem as comfortable in this stroller, and I found the fold/open and placing the carseat in/taking the carseat out of the unit too complicated. I also found it hard to change the recline on the stroller, something that is important to me as I transition my son to and from naps. I also never felt that my child was as secure as he was in his regular stroller, despite the 5-point harness. And the harness is not as easy as it could be to open and close - not good for an impatient 9 month old! Again, I think this travel system is okay for the value, and certainly has a lot of worthwhile included features (large storage basket, cup holders, snack tray) but it does not compare to the other strollers I own, and for a travel system, is just not that easy to use. Thanks again to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this travel system!

Great price, does it's job. Not Super or Amazing.

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo Vive Travel System Stroller with Embrace Infant Car Seat - Hayden Dot:

This travel system isn't bad for the price. It is lightweight and has attractive features including the undercarriage basket, cupholders, "canopies", easy open/close functions, swivel wheels, pouch (behind the stroller seat), and an easy-to-carry infant carrier. My baby is on the larger size for her age, and she still fit wonderfully in the infant carrier, even at 29" and 24#. While the infant carrier easily accommodated my bigger baby and it was easy to install in the car, the canopy is lacking. it is very flimsy and doesn't cover much of my baby at all. The one on mine wouldn't even pull out the entire way. Attaching the seat to the stroller was a bit on the tricky side, it doesn't click when the seat is on properly so be careful when you are using the two together. It did come with a tether to help keep the carrier attached to the stroller that I used as a back-up and I was careful not to go "off-roading" when we went for walks. The canopy on the stroller is also short and flimsy. While it could get the job done as far as providing a bit of shade, it does nothing to help shield from sun from any direction and nothing versus any bit of rain. When the infant carrier is used with the stroller the canopies do not meet, leaving a gap where weather can easily slide in (sun, rain, etc). The stroller was easy to compact and fit fine in my compact SUV. You cannot do it one-handed like many travel system strollers though, and mine would not stand alone while folded up waiting to be put in the car. I had to fold it up and put it right in. For it's price point, it is a good back-up system for when we go out of town or if I will be traveling in someone else's vehicle. It mostly does it's job, it's just not an above-the-top system. I got a chance to try this travel system as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel.

I got a chance to try this travel system as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. overall the travel set was good for its price, but definitely not the easiest. the carriage folds up easy and small which is convenient but I had a hardtime get the car seat in and out of the car and carriage. it has a lot of features like cup holder and big storage area. smooth enough ride in the carriage. for the price it does the job but there are better systems for a little more money.

Good in relative terms

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo Vive Travel System Stroller with Embrace Infant Car Seat - Hayden Dot:

Similar to what other parents have mentioned, you would want to consider this product at its price point. It will not beat the high end strollers, but bear in mind that you are getting a stroller AND a car seat at this price. System is light enough to use for traveling, and you will not feel that much of a pinch if the airline destroys your Bugaboo or Uppababy. Stroller is compact yet spacious, and the child seat safe and light. Overall happy with the product and will use it in the future. I received this travel system as a gift from the weeSpring Parent Panel.

Good option for tight budget

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo Vive Travel System Stroller with Embrace Infant Car Seat - Hayden Dot:

I am part of the Weespring Parent Panel and received this set free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I was very excited to try the Evenflo Vie. Its description boosts a lot of great features that I've never seen at this price point. To give you a little history, I was a nanny before I became a parent, and I've owned strollers by Graco, Joovy, Maclaren, Chicco, and Britax. I've owned carseats by Graco, Chicco, Britax, and Evenflo. I've owned both Graco and Britax travel systems. Double strollers galore. So I've worked with many products at many different price points. The first thing I noticed with this Evenflo set was that it's all plastic, even the wheels. I was apprehensive, but I'm pleased to say that the stroller doesn't ride like the wheels are plastic. The fabric is on the thinner side, but the carseat's infant padding is quite soft. As the seat can hold as small as a 4lb baby, the straps adjust very small (and there is lots of room for growth) I couldn't figure out how to open the stroller but my husband did. It's a little difficult to open, maybe a little worse than other strollers in this price range, but not horrible. Don't believe the "one hand fold" advertisement, however. Pros: Very affordable Cute pattern, could be gender neutral Car seat safely fits babies at 4lbs Cons: Plastic Need much work/effort to open/fold stroller, especially if you aren't very strong or are petite Small car seat canopy - barely covers baby's head. At this price point, I would recommend this system. If you want absolute ease of use and can afford it, I would probably spend a little more to get something more user-friendly and higher quality, but this is a nice basic travel system if it fits your budget!

Great travel system!

By jofamm

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo Vive Travel System Stroller with Embrace Infant Car Seat - Hayden Dot:

This is a great stroller/car seat combo! I love how the car seat can easily attach to the stroller and everywhere we go we get compliments on the color/design. I really liked the color scheme of the system. It is very "on trend" and is neutral enough to use for any child. I definitely prefer it to the blue and pink palettes that seem to dominate the baby gear market. It's perfect for either a little baby boy or girl and is so stylish. The quality is fantastic as well. Both the car seat and the stroller are relatively light weight. The car seat is larger than the average infant car seat, again making it good for extended use. I really liked how small the stroller folded. The basket is large and holds everything we need when we are out and about. We've used this for walks outside and the wheels did great (and put the baby right to sleep!) and also for shopping in a store and it is very easy to steer and maneuver. Its perfect from brand new baby all the way through the toddler years (I also have a 2.5 year old who's used it as well...he loved it!!) Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this travel system! I love it!

I got a chance to try the Evenflo Vive travel system as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. I found the tool to be a good budget option but lacked in a few areas around comfort and stability. Pros: Long hand, good for taller folks and it means less short-stepping Seat is easy to configure from leaned back to sitting up straight Easy to assemble One hand easy foldout capability, for real Cons: Lacks in stability, you can feel the whole stroller zig as you zag Smaller plastic wheels make for a bumpy ride Plastic cup/stuff holders (for you and the baby) aren't designed to fit phones and everything rattles in the plastic

Not the best quality, but good for the price point

Comments about Evenflo 1001211 Evenflo Vive Travel System Stroller with Embrace Infant Car Seat - Hayden Dot:

I received this travel system as a gift from the weeSpring Parent Panel and plan to use it as a back up or travel system when we fly and need to take a set with us. My reasoning for that is it seems to be a less stable system that others I have used. The stroller is a bit flimsy, hard to open or close, not sturdy - you can feel even the slightest bump. The car seat doesn't have much padding but is nice and lightweight. I love the colors and design but don't feel 100% about the quality, durability or safety. I wouldn't use this as my main car seat or stroller but is good to have as a back up.
