I exclusively breastfed my son for 3 months,
But I knew once I went back to work (I am a ER nurse) there would not be enough periods of time for me to pump at work to keep up with the demand. My son also loves to eat, he is only 3 months old and he drinks 8oz bottles every feeding. I knew I would need to start with formula. I originally started with the original Enfamil, and my son seemed very fussy and gassy, so I switched to Enfamil Gentlease. That worked okay, but he would spit up so much that I knew I needed something different. I tried Enfamil AR for spit up, but honestly that seemed to make the spit up even worse. I got sample package of the Enfamil Enspire and I was hesitant to try it because the formula is new on the market. However, after being constantly spit up on, I eventually decided to try it. Oh my goodness, I could not be any happier with this product, there are so many qualities. First off, the taste and smell is so much better than the others. It took my son weeks to even drink formula when we first started because he didn't like the taste. However this formula, the first bottle he drank he didn't seem to notice that it wasn't breastmilk. Secondly, it doesn't make him gassy or fussy, or constipted. And this formula stopped the majority of the spit up! I love this product and I'm going to continue to use it and recommend it to all my friends and family. I just wish I could figure out how to get another sample or at least some coupons because the only downside is the cost.

I breastfed my baby for 9 months and then I wanted to start using formula. Upon my research I came across this new enfamil Enspire, which states that it's Enfamil's closest formula to breast milk. However Enfamil Infant also states that it's the closet formula to breast milk. I read the ingredients on the back of both cans. I didn't find any differences. SEEMS LIKE THE ONLY THINGS THAT'S DIFFERENT IS THE FRONT OF THE CAN (the eye catching label). But the back of the can (the ingredients) should be different and they are not. There was maybe 1 ingredient that they didn't share. I would prefer the honesty about product, don't just make another pretty label because breastfeeding is starting to make a comeback in America. Or, put the new pretty label on the Enfamil Infant can. Because the label (on Enspire) is Amazing. I almost bought it just because of the label. As a parent we want to do what's best for our children. I'm a huge supporter of Mead Johnson products, and would love for Mead Johnson to continue to honestly help parents do what's best for our children. Knowing that breastfeeding is best for our children being honest about the formulas would help parents make educated decisions about all the different types and brands of formula that out here.

I chose this one because I'm still breastfeeding but needed to supplement and this formula didn't have GMO and corn products in it. I notice my baby spits up more and isn't as regular while using formula aposed to breastfeeding alone

Formula mixes well, doesn't smell & my 7month old loves it. Only downside is that it's expensive! It only last me a max of 10 days! Due to this I've stopped buying it due to the cost :(

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Enspire Infant Formula, Powder, 20.5 Ounce Reusable Tub:

My almost 3 month old daughter has used this formula since home from the hospital. We have not switched to any other formula since. We have never had the need to use gas drops or grip water at all. After having 3 kids we are pros. Formula is all made the same. So for all of a sudden to have a problem and think to have to change the formula is wrong. In the middle of month 2 our daughter started spitting up after every meal. Simply wouldn't keep it down. The 1st thing I did was call her pediatricians office. They got back to me by saying your daughter's doctor wants you to switch to Similac Soy. Just like that. With out even seeing her. Something wasn't right. I then thought maybe I got a bad batch, since I had just opened that tub of enfamil enspire formula. Opened another tub, but the spitting up after every meal continued. Then I thought the problem is the baby, maybe she caught the stomach bug from my two older kids. So i remembered that with my second chils (my son) we started taking him to the chiropractor for spitting up and he got batter with time and visits. So I made an appointment for our daughter aswell. Whom at the time was 2 month old, to see the family chiropractor. He readjust our daughters missed a lined spine. Birth can be a traumatic experience after all. We haven't had a problem since. Hence the formula was never a problem, we never switched. She got better after her 1st visit. The next feeding was such a joy to see her hold it down and feedings once again became a bonding experience. And we stayed loyal as an enfamil family user.

I switched to formula after 5 months of breastfeeding. I first attempted the enfamil gentle ease since that is what I used for my first daughter, but she spit it out and really didn't care for it. I tried this since it was new and was the closest to breastmilk that they have come out with and she drank it right up! I even tasted it to see if it was similar to breastmilk taste, and it was a little sweet just like breastmilk. She is gaining great and hasn't had any issue with spit up or constipation/pooping.

I breastfed our son for the first 4 months with adding regular Infant Enfamil to supplement starting in month 2 when I went back to work. He was not as interested in the regular Enfamil and spit up quite frequently. We received an email from Enfamil about the Enspire product and decided to give it a try. My son started eating more volume of milk with out spitting up from the Enspire product, so we switched completely to formula by the time he was 4 months, and he has thrived on it. It is expensive, but we are glad to find a formula that worked for him!
