Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

This is an fun matching game / activity set that also allows kids to practice fine motor skills. Not only are they developing the eye and brain to match AND remember images, but then they have to "flip" out the brownie from the pan. There's also a number learning factor here as well!

There's a lot of action with trading, stealing, switching brownie pieces as you play the game. My 4 year old loves to play on his own. My 6 year old likes to play with his brother just to have fun with him, although he's a bit on the older side for this game I think.

The pieces are sturdy and high quality - with plastic flipper and brownies and sturdy cardboard squares! Love this game and a fine addition to a board game collection for the younger set!

    The Kids Like It

    By The Lowmasters

    from Oregon

Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

This game is more of an activity than a proper game, but it is a memory game where you try and remember which brownies have which number to try and fill your plate with 5 brownies.

There's a spinner which tells you which number to try and match, lose a turn or brownie, and steal a brownies.

The spinner mechanics, in my opinion, make this an activity instead of a game. You can randomly lose a turn or a brownie, preventing progress and undercutting skill and strategy. It can however even the playing field among players of different abilities. I'm just not sure having the ability to lose every brownie you've gained from a few bad random spins is a good choice. The spinner mechanics to make make this an activity instead of a game, since a random spin making you lose a turn or brownie isn't a lot of fun.

Despite that the kids seem to enjoy it, and the game doesn't last too long per round. It does require remembering what brownies have which number to have the best chance at winning.

Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

This game is like Memory, but with brownies! You fill the "pan" with brownies and then use the spatula to flip them over. If you match the number on the spinner, you get to keep the brownie on your plate. The first one with a full plate wins! Watch out for spilled milk though =)

        Brownie Match

        By New Age Mama

        from New Jersey

Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

This is another great game, especially for bakers in training. The game pieces look so good, it's hard to resist taking a bite out of one! But these brownies aren't for eating. Each one has a number or star (which is like a wild card) underneath. To play the game, you spin the wheel and whatever number you land on, you use the spatula to pick one a brownie that hopefully matches that number. If you guess correctly, you get to keep it. If not, you have to put it back. You could also land on a burnt brownie and have to put one back or get a chance to steal one from another player. The first to fill up their tray is the winner.

This game teaches kids to recognize numbers and helps them to build their memory skills. When my daughter isn't using the brownies to play the game, she also enjoys using them in her play kitchen. It's like getting two toys in one!

Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

I received this game in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, and based on usage in my pre-k classroom. My students LOVE this game - I put it in our Math Center and it has not been idle since. I've had it out for several weeks now and it is still played daily! The kids absolutely love the brownies and the spatula, although it is difficult for them to flip the individual brownies over since the spatula is slightly broader than 1 brownie and the container is a tight fit. Still, they enjoy the attempt! Their absolute favorite part is stealing the brownies from each other when they land on the "Brownie Thief" icon. I was a bit leery of that part, worried about hurt feelings, but for the most part they are all very sportsmanlike about it. The biggest benefit I have seen is the camaraderie and conversations that take place around the game. Typically one game last over 20 minutes because they're having such a good time laughing and talking! My English Language Learners are able to participate too as the icons are basically self-explanatory. My students are 4 and 5 so they already know the numerals, but they do enjoy talking about how many more they will need to get 5 brownies, or how many more they have than a friend so there are early addition and subtraction concepts being practiced too! They have started to use strategy as well - often counting to see who has the most brownies before deciding who they will steal from! I would give this 5 stars if the issue with the spatula and tray were fixed, but its still well worth the purchase price!

Comments about Educational Insights Brownie Match Memory Game:

This is a super cute game, the pieces are high quality and really realistic looking. However, my four-year-old had a hard time using the spatula to lift the pieces. It made the game overly difficult for him. We ended up just using our hands, like any traditional memory game. It may be easier for older kids to flip the brownies with a spatula, though. In general, a cute game, and my son went NUTS when he saw what he thought were brownies sitting out on the game board!
